I said it to someone last night but it didn't feel like Origin, just felt like a bog standard NRL game between two teams fighting for 10th and 11th place.

I'm dumbfounded as to why NSW even picked Dylan walker to play 10 minutes....especially when QLD were down to 16 men.

And for a lot of the media to say NSW were poor; I thought the opposite.

They at least looked like running play down to the wings almost every play even come the 70th minute whereas QLD were doing one pass out of dummy half and that was it.

The difference in metres gained in sets was diabolical, that and QLD kicking on 3rd/4th tackle when we're 10m off the line ffs.

Don't even get me started on Thaiday taking that kick lol (or Cameron Smith in general, his kicks were atrocious compared to the long bombs that Adam Reynolds was putting in).

And why has nobody in the NRL learnt to take a drop kick yet ffs?

NSW were good until they had to try and score, then they shit the bed.

Game 1 can always turn into that. Both teams know how important it is to win it if they want to win the series so go out not to lose instead of trying to win. I expect the next one to be very different.

This. Tried to play with too much structure in attack. I really like our back 5 but they just need early ball. Morris and Jennings looked dangerous whenever we shifted it quickly.

Yea of course people get riled up, people just go nuts in Qld for it. I was at a train station in the CBD yesterday a few hours before the game and you had guys just yelling out Queenslander at the top of their lungs. :lol:

Although it's obviously the pinnacle of the sport but if you are a die-hard nrl fan of course it's a nuisance. So many seasons (as a Broncos supporter) where we've been in the top couple of teams get to the origin period only to lose half our side (sometimes as high as 12 or 13 players ffs) for a number of weeks.

Does lead to the odd awesome moment though, like the Baby Broncos of 2002 against the West Tigers. :d

There's too many teams. They play out of lifeless stadiums that are way to big and many share the same 'home' ground. Add in The fact there's some pretty shit Sydney teams this year and the NRL have some tough decisions to make on the long term future of clubs (mine included).

Id say it has to do with the apathy and sheer laziness of Sydneysiders as well.
