A crowd of about 6700 at Ipswich, should've been at Suncorp IMO. Yeah, nothing says "Grand final" like 46,000 empty seats.

I doubt they'd have doubled the number of attendees for simply moving the venue. And even then you've stillgot 40,000 empty seats.

Ipswich is just a stupid fucking place to hold it.

For someone who normally doesn't watch league or AFL, it was a sports-filled weekend with me watching both semis plus the AFL final.
Don't know what happened to Souths - they came out firing, and just fizzled. I can only put it down to lack of finals experience. That Wolfman try was insanity - absolutely no try upon first looking at it, but 100% try when replayed in slo-mo. John Sutton is a beast. If Isaac Luke wasn't so poor with his handling a few times, it could have been a different story. Inglis is hands down the best defender I've watched in league ever - he was absolutely immense on Friday night.
The Knights game kind of blew out randomly. Started relatively close & competitive, and just went crazy with score. Mullen should have been trying his creative kicks a lot earlier. If Knights put in as much as they were in the last 10, earlier in the game, it may have been a different story.
So what's the deal - will Roosters have the title taken off them eventually if they do win because of this drugs stuff?

I couldn't care one bit for alf - never watch it and besides its an nrl thread pv4 :) Well all I will say what a performance by the EAGLES the last month barring dropping that penrith game  Toovs is training them better than expected and what a never say die attitude the squad has. How we have handled these mammoth packs of late has been awesum to watch ! Well deserved just seeing big Rose's expression at FT says it all, sweet sweet win against the over hyped bunnies \:d/ Anybodies GF imo - one thing is for sure we will be fighting till the last second bring it =d>

They did the same with the tv deal getting into a pissing war with the AFL instead of doing whats best for the fans and the future of the game.

They've suffered significantly courtesy of poor attendances through their finals series. They've got to make that money back somehow to balance the books.

There's a reason why attendances are poor and thats down to the smug attitude by those at HQ. Balancing the books  FFS they've just made a billion from the tv deal. Won't be long now until the A-league overtakes us.

Roar_Brisbane wrote:Greedy fucking cunts jacking up origin ticket prices. Disgraceful. Rofl wasn't Rugby League created because blue collar guys wanted a cheaper, less competitive version of Union? Doesn't really matter that they're raising the prices - you're still going to get thousands of those idiots in blue afros to buy tickets each year. The demand won't go down, so they may as well raise prices.

Has channel 9 always shown players arriving and getting out of the team bus or did they decide to copy the UCL just recently? Ricky Martin also singing Cup of Life as prematch entertainment... :-k
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
