People aren't just claiming that they were robbed in this game, but they were robbed of a premiership  Either team that lost last night had to blame themselves 100%. If you let in 30 unanswered points in a finals game you lose any right to complain really

On a sidenote why is it that the NRL can take finals off certain NRL teams for the good of the game, to get better crowds or whatever you want to call it but don't do it for every match? ie week one: Cowboys v Broncos at Suncorp would've been a sellout, last nights match at Suncorp would've at least been 35K+.
I'm a believer that if you earn a home final it should be played at your home ground, but it's ridiculous certain rules apply for certain clubs. No integrity in this competition anymore.

If you let in 30 unanswered points in a finals game you lose any right to complain really Im a Manly Supporter and 2 years ago when the Roosters played them in the Grand Final there were so many decisions that went the Roosters way that I even predicted that we would lose due to this before the game even and started and we did. The NRL imo has the best interests in the Roosters...all you have to do is look at their playing roster...they were GF winners last year and they barely let of their players go. How are they not over the salary cap.

Most reports suggest they're blaming themselves for going 30-0 down and not the referees.

How are they not over the salary cap. Most Manly fans do predict they'll lose games because of referees so it gives them something to complain about. As for the Roosters and the salary cap, you do know the cap increased by $500k this season right? Also how many big name players did they re-sign, SBW is the only one who I can think of off the top of my head.

How are they not over the salary cap. Are you talking about last years GF? The same GF that manly were incorrectly given a penalty try in? And it's the same Roosters side that lost a game by 1 point last week after incorrectly having a try disallowed? (In no way do I think that cost us the game though) You're kidding if you think referee's go out to favourite certain clubs. Our salary cap is really easy to explain. Before last season Tupou, RTS, Guerra, Cordner, Moa and others were basically unheard of. We've admitted that we won't be able to keep them when their contracts expire. Pearce and Friend are key players that no other club wanted, Jennings was cheap because of off field issues and Mini is on a much smaller contract than he used to be. SBW, Maloney and JWH are our only big name star player on 'big' contracts at the moment.

 Toovey's complaining makes it so much more fun. Just take the loss like a fucking adult and not a child.
That being said I am impressed he somehow found a way to blame the referees for losing on a night where we were the ones denied a blatant try

Being an Eels supporter, there's nothing worse than watching Manly v Bulldogs play knowing one of them has to win.

the problematic aspect of Rugby League is the one pointer to break the tie :-k
they should do away with it because it changes the game for what its worth
Although on the flipside of the argument, maybe they should keep it, for the finals :-k as there needs to be a winner for next week, and dispense with it in the regular season? Or just play 10 minutes extra? and then golden point after that?
As far as I see it, The golden point is Rugby League's equivalent of the Penalty Shootout, at least theres still some elements of the game still there - with the tackling and combative nature still there, it just makes the game seem so generic and soulless when the potential for that to happen is in every game
I mean, soccer doesnt have a penalty shootout each and every week, or have a penalty shootout for a game which was goalless, purely because the spectators wanted to see goals/ a result

I just don't like golden point in elimination footy. The thought of a team being eliminated without touching the ball doesn't seem right. Play 5 minutes each way, and if it's still level then go to golden point.

QCUP>NRL
So much better watching a game of league that isn't filled with wrestling, grubs & cheapshot merchants. Not to mention the reffing standards are so much better in QCUP. :d

Edited by sydneycroatia58: 21/9/2014 10:32:33 AM It was bit over the top. As a Manly fan I can't really complain about the officiating. It was good spectacle and the better team won. But they do need to change the rule regarding kicking the ball at the ref and getting a fresh set of six. Teams will latch onto this now.

Being an eagles supporter it has been fantastic since the mid 80's seeing you guys eating it and eating it - fuck it must be soooooooo stale \:d/ Up against it last night but what a comeback what a game ! My highlight seeing Brett S running in that typical slice accelerate try time. Trivia, coaches 2 past great Eagles half backs, well done both of them and congrats dogs.

Incredibly out of character for me, I watched both NRL games on the weekend.
I loved the Rabbitohs game, but was quite bored by the Bulldogs one.
I fully expect GI and co to run riot over the Bulldogs on Sunday.

It annoys me so much that you get sin binned for punching someone yet if you deliberately stomp on someone you only get placed on report. Such a joke.
The Easts drought continues though. Expecting the Pride to thump the Panthers.
Will be great to watch the 'Baby Broncos' run round this weekend. :d
