Vlado Kurtuma a upcoming talent playing for the Bonnyrigg White Eagles in the NSWPL. In the 2010 season he was in the Under 20’s side and he has now gotten he’s chance to play 1st grade football with Bonnyrigg White Eagles after being awarded a First Grade contract with the club of his heart for the 2011 season.

We caught up Vlado exclusively and had the following questions for him.

Q. Where did you start playing football as a junior?
A: My first club was Doonside Hawks and I started playing as a 7 year old.

Q. For that don’t know your favorite position?
A: I love to play upfront as a forward and behind the strikers

Q. What are your thoughts of Brian Brown as coach?
A: Brain Brown is a professional coach and a pure tactician , he organizes his squads very well . Our assistant coach Cliff Pointer is a great motivator and sets up professional training sessions, especially the ones without the ball work.

Q. What does it mean to you to play for Bonnyrigg as a first grader?
A: It means a lot, because my background is Serbian , it is important for me to impress and play my best at all times for the Serbian community. I grew up watching this club and to play for the community is a massive achievement for me

Q. Who are the best fans in your view in the NSWPL
A: I would say Bonnyrigg, Olympic and Sydney United

Q. What type of football can we expect from Bonnyrigg next season?
A: The same as last year, very dominate, but the difference will be winning the grand final, whilst being serious contenders for the league and also going far in the McDonalds Cup.

Q. What will be the toughest away match and why?
A: Against Sydney United, Biggest derby of the year for both clubs, everybody knows why, And also because the games will be played behind closed doors and we will have no supporters on the day, we will have to be determined and tough mentally and physically to bring the 3 points to Bonnyrigg

Q. What are your personal goals that you hope to achieve with Bonnyrigg?
A: My personal goals are to be one of the fittest in the team, obviously to play as much games as I can, score in as many games and assist my team mates and to become one of the best Serbian/Australian youth players to come through the ranks and to develop as a professional footballer.

Q. How long have you been playing at Bonnyrigg White Eagles?
A: This will be my 7th year

Q. What is Bonnyrigg as a football club like for a footballer:
A: For me it means everything and great players/coaches to come through, they always say this is the best, and we always get looked after. That’s why most of the top dogs from last year’s amazing team have stayed
