It is with great pleasure to see Sydney Olympic youth players achieving their goals and being recognized by the Australian Institute of Sports and other soccer institutions.
A few days ago the Sydney Olympic office received a phone call from Mr. Mark Pepper, Football Operations Manager of AIS Elite Performance and informed us that Luke Kairies that played for the Club and is part of the Under 16’s squad this season has been offered a residential scholarship for 2011.
We were informed that he was the only player to be selected from NSW, even though the past years around 60% of the players selected were from NSW. To add to that, Luke due to the fact that he played for a Club in the Football NSW Premier League was not on their system but his outstanding performance at a Club that is always recognized, gave him the opportunity to achieve this scholarship.
Please find HERE the letter received by Australian Institute of Sports.

Why is this thread worthy? I am sure a lot of Stafe League clubs around the country have produced scholarship earning players..
