Hi all,
Tomorrow night (Australia Day) Rockdale City Suns are playing the StGeorge Saints at the Ilinden Sports Centre. First grade kick off is 7pm. No entry fee but donations are sought from patrons attending the venue with all proceeds going to the Qld Flood victims. Its a worthy cause and so I encourage as many football supporters as possible to turn out for it and to hopefully see some of the Suns and Saints new recruits.

New recruits will be officially unveiled shortly. Needless to say the Club has been quite active in the player market. No notable losses.
Not sure how developing a football specific facility renders a Club a joke. I'm guessing you havent been to the ground to see the tremendous progress being made. The playing surface has been improved dramatically over the off season, floodlights are now installed, concrete seating has been installed.
You are entitled to your opinion, albeit a misguided one. Anyway, I urge you to come down tomorrow night to see for yourself but more importantly, to support a very worthy cause.

What about last year? what about last year? obviously FNSW gave special dispensation to play at the ground didn't they? In much the same way as they have allowed various teams to play at grounds that do not strictly accord to certain criteria from time to time. At the end of the day, even the most one eyed person can appreciate progress thats been made and thats the important thing. In any event, in what way does it matter if you have teams playing out of gigantic stadiums that tick all the boxes if theres nobody there? Its a simple question but its relevant given the crowds that were on hand at most NSWPL fixtures last season.

All you need is for someone to sell watermelons outside the ground like Jenson Park How fri Its a pity that you cannot put aside your political thoughts for a minute given my initial posting was simply in relation to a fundraiser for a worthy cause. I dont know about you, but the fact the Club is engaging in such an event speaks volume for the people who run the Club. I guess you are also oblivious to some of the Club's other initiatives such as the recent charity match against the Newcastle Jets at Seymour Shaw to raise funds for the StGeorge Public Hospital. Regarding the venue, in what way is it a disgrace? It is football specific, built using funds generated by the Club and its members. I dont see too many other teams doing this. A few years ago there was nothing. There is now a beautiful facility including a Club House from which you have sweeping views of the gorund that can accomodate in excess of 300 people. How is the team a disgrace? Pretty much entirely comprised of players from the Super League and came within a whisker of making the semi finals first year back up in the Premier League and finishing higher than many more fancied teams including the likes of Sydney Olympic. Is that a disgrace? I personally went to many NSWPL fixtures last season at various grounds. I dont recall seeing anyone selling watermelons at Jenson, not that one should be criticised for being an entrepreneur in any event. Its really pointless trying to preach to someone who is obviously as ilinformed and ignorant as yourself. Anyway, unlike others, I prefer to commend all teams in the NSWPL on any positive initiative they pursue.

mate, you and I know that the backbone of the vast majority of NSWPL clubs is as ethnic clubs. One cannot expect each of those clubs to simply turn their back on their origins can they? the fact that a sports centre is called something that has an ethnic connotation does not detract from the fact that all spectators are welcome to attend, regardless of race. i used to regularly attend sydney utd games at King Tom notwithstanding the fact that im not of croatian heritage. did the name deter me? no. ditto for when i used to watch games at the serbian centre, club marconi or back in the day, when i went to stgeorge budapest games. i have no doubt if the eternal nomads that are sydney olympic ever had their own ground they would of called it something that reflects their greek heritage and again i wouldnt of had an issue attending, just like when i attended numerous olympic fixtures at stgeorge stadium, leichhardt oval, shark park, etc because it is those same ethnic people who were the football pioneers in this country. name of centre aside, Rockdale have been very proactive in enticing the wider community to attend fixtures. Everyone is welcome. But surely you can appreciate the rationale behind the naming of the Centre.

did you know Kolner is gay No doubt thats about an intelligent a response as is possible from you. Given you are greek, i find the reference to another person being homsexual intriguing. Must be really cool getting on the net and making derogatory comments to other people. Youre one funny guy. no really, you are, and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Anyway, happy Australia Day to everyone for tomorrow. That includes you sunshine.

Is there a single intelligent Olympic supporter on the internet?
Is there some kind of Greek centre for the handicapped sponsored by Olympic that has internet access or something?
If only the sensible Olympic supporters could see the rubbish you blokes spew up

I wouldn't be concerned at all with anything that comes from the Olympic "supporters" on this forum. Not really worth bothering about. Though I only recently started viewing this forum, it took about five minutes to realise what tripe they all write. A shame really as this forum has the potential to seriously discuss state league football but it is simply destroyed by the junk which they contribute. They are clearly only teenagers so I wouldn't get too uptight. Best to ignore them and just respond to the rest, as you see fit.
