Johns is like that, still making my mind up on the new tame impala single. I think I own every Silverchair song ever, and love them do death, but his new direction change is awesome. I don't mind the change since he's done it as a solo artist 8 years after Silverchair's last release. As much as I love the Wombats new stuff, it breaks my heart to hear them go synthetic. Let's listen to new order and celebrate the irony.

Just bought a ticket to Karnivool's Themata 10 year anniversary tour. Pumped is an understatement.

Courtney Barnett has released a song and video which just shifts the paradigm of what everyone thinks of Australia and Australian music
Its a recall to 90s grunge/ slowcore music with that doomy sounding bassline
And the video shows up Australia to be a bleak and foreboding place, contrary to what Americans (because only their opinions matter  ), as in Australia is not some beachey summery country that everyone pigeonholes it to be
Also, whats the deal with a line of separation between Melbourne and Sydney's music? Melbourne's music is a bit more bleaker and takes more risks, Courtney Barnett is a Melbournite who gets airplay on the Seattle radio station - the only station that I care about - because its Seattle and thats where grunge is from, whereas Sydney's is just generic pub rock. But even an artist from Melbourne who's not that big (Ainslie Wills) is better than 'the best' Sydney band

^ This video is reminiscent of one of those trippy videos you see on the ABC's rage between the hours of 3am and 5am when you were tripping on acid, and it was designed to freak you out (or more)

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Recently gotten properly into the Rubens, their song writing isn't that great, but I find their style very refreshing.

Anyone else looking forward to What Went Down by Foals? Mountain At My Gates is one of the few songs released in recent years that had me hooked from start to end and I loved from start to finish. Seriously, fuck /mu/, I don't give a shit if Yannis has changed since his Edmund Fitzgerald/math rock days, I'm hyped for this album.
