99 Problems wrote:RedKat wrote:Pumas were so so close against the Springboks last night. Lost 33-31 in the end. If Wallabies dish up what they did against the All Blacks last night the Boks will put 50 on them as well and the Pumas will win comfortably. I doubt it. The All Blacks could do that to any team. I'd say a full strength Wallabies is the second best team in the world. Come World Cup time I'd be more worried about England than South Africa Nope, both the South African and English packs would eat the Australians alive atm, not to mention they'll be able to smack penalties from anywhere on the pitch which Australia is never capable of doing.

Their tight fives are stronger than ours, but I'd take our loose forwards, especially when you consider we still hopefully have Pocock, whose the best forward in the world when fit to return. We desperately need Genia to find his form though. Foley at 10 will solve any goal kicking issues. So with everyone firing we have a 7,8,9,13 and 15 as good as any. Still a long way to go but we've got 12 months left.

Rugby is up shit creek again. ARU new TV deal getting signed on monday with no FTA element for Super Rugby and Fox Sports paying only $15m for both SR and Wallabies games which is the exact same as last time. The only reason they are getting any increase at all in tv money is because there was a bidding war in the UK between Sky and BT. Good going Pulver ](*,)

-PB Well it's all a bit complicated as they sanzaar nations receive income both from their home tv deal and a section of Saanzars broadcast revenue which is estimated to have increased to around $25 million. I'm not sure if that's a third or if it's split based on tv viewing. Fox are paying $15m per year for Exclusive rights to all Super Rugby Games and all Wallabies games. They are however on-selling selected games to channel ten for about $4m so their net loss is only $11m per year. This is pretty much the exact same they've been paying for a years. All up the ARU is relying on about $35-40m a year which is what the FFA get from it's Australian tv deal. I'd like to know how much the FFA get's from it's overseas broadcasters like Sky NZ or BT Sport because atm a fair apples and apples comparison is that the FFA gets a hell of a lot more than rugby is from Fox Sports. Regardless of the result that was a great match.
Some really good signs from us tonight (and some sloppy play as well)
Lealiifano was very impressive.
Not sold on Foley (hasn't shown any of his Super Rugby form at this stage).
Shocking play by Horwill on that Smith try.
Have to say the matches I've watched of the All Blacks against us and Sa they've been second best bar that thumping (Yes they've found a way to win but certainly not invincible like a couple of years ago)
Very open World Cup in 2015. :d

Pulver and his private school boys club at the ARU should have been the ones walking out the door. Disgraceful

Disgraceful I'm still gutted that particular cliques, factions and the vile reporting of certain fairfax journalists has lead to one of the greatest minds in Australian Rugby to walk away. :( Will be fucking filthy if Beale doesn't get the sack.

Edited by Roar_Brisbane: 9/11/2014 08:39:36 AM Hahaha I couldn't believe it, that's the exact same thing they did against NZ and it bit them in the arse. It should be fucking common sense that if you're winning with a minute to, grind the thing through the forwards, recycle and run the clock. Apart from that moment of madness, I though Foley played well (and so did the welsh commentators). Made some passing errors but apart from that, he generally kept the attack flowing through each phase by keeping things simple. Can't believe people are still calling for fecking Quade Cooper.

Really excited for the new season (just a shame about all the injuries so far)
Can't wait for KHunt's debut (was one of my favourite league players when I was younger)
Also looking forward to Kerevi & Kuridrani causing havoc as well.

Well that was horrendous, kinda lost for words. Won't be long until Graham is sacked.
Hopefully we see JOC at flyhalf and KHunt at fullback next week.
Only positive was Kerevi, will be a big chance of going to the World Cup.
Guess I'm quite the fool for picking Horwill in my fantasy team.
