FWIW, heard both these rumours tonight. Apparently Miron will take over as Roar coach.

Put the two together, that would suggest a breakaway from the FFA, led by the big fat miners $$$$. Which could explain why Frank Lowy's not saying much these days?

Anyway, FWIW! Heard it from two different people, who supposedly heard it from very well-connected sources.

Um... the FFA own the licenses. Glory can't withdraw.

The FFA own the entire licensee, all the branding, the IP etc.

I have more confidence in the GCU rumour, surprising as it might be, and I note that Clive Palmer's comments today do not quite explicitly rule it out. In fact he mentions "the region".

Glory to fold? Who knows? Perth fans are obviously thrashing about in agony right now. :lol:

Sage has actually mentioned other potential backers of Perth Glory, but that he wants to remain as the sole owner (his previous partners weren't as flexible with their money). He has also said that if the current club review was to find that Perth would better progress without him then he will step down (but Perth Glory will continue).

I severely doubt the review will come to that conclusion. I also severely doubt Ange would be ousted as Brisbane coach considering he just won the PFA award.

I feel these things may have been discussed at a high level, but apart from that I would say this rumour is not going to happen.

I couldn't believe he'd want to out Ange and all the success he's had, what's being built there, either. Maybe Miron was considered more for a Director of Football role? I think Miron has always seen that as his next step up, he even suggested as much at GCU, back when Okon was there, suggesting Okon could take over, but ofcourse he black flipped, a bit like Howard and Costello, but this Costello (Okon) definitely chose to drop to the back bench!

Im pretty sure the purpose of the licencing agreement was to ensure that teams can not just 'walk away' from the FFA, and go and set up some other comp. Who knows what is happening at PG, but lets hope it ends well.
