Sorry for those two or three upset by the loss of the grass roots section but it was a criminally underused forum that had considerably more state league threads than any real grass roots.
There was little to no traffic in the forum and zero traffic in grass roots stories. Any grass roots stories of interest will now appear in the Australia news section and debate will continue in the Australian football forum, both of which will give them a far wider audience than previously.
Edited by Kevin Airs: 26/2/2011 03:46:09 PM Kevin, I've been providing both Australian football and grass roots RSS feeds from my website aussiesrus.com.au as i'm a big supporter of both and do anything to help support our code. I don't provide RSS for any other specific sport instead let the national papers provide those feeds as football is not positive by these national feeders in general. So I gave 4-4-2 the opportunity to promote football by footballers positively. The reason why you don't see much traffic from your grass roots from association levels etc is that your feeds have been dead and not updated by 4-4-2 for many many months. I even posted in your feedback section which appears to be gone now the issue. Last feeds are so old that it included C of C results from 2009. Thats how neglected this section was by 4-4-2. Why would readers want to look at feeds that are over 12 month's old. Its stale news. Even I had to post the results for C of C for 2010 as 4-4-2 didn't and that does not appear as an RSS feed. Feeds usually only need one click to find the source. Once the source is located then they bookmark your site hence you have a new reader. The grass roots definition has been narrowed significantly by the changing of the topic name to state league. Also you don't actually know where your readers are coming from. More than likely they are association players, coaches, managers as well that read this topic to get any information they can which is almost non-existant with respect to assocation level information and news. What's the big deal in having a category that doesn't get much traffic as you say. Your feedback topic gets nothing but it still exists. You as an editor would know that content is king. Provide the content and they will come. No-one at association level is really interested in spam olympic posts. Show some love!!! Edited by Aussiesrus: 27/2/2011 01:33:12 PM Thank you Aussiesrus, could not have said it better myself. Really i couldnt.

Sorry to be nuisance but, if ever anyone posted anything to do with Joeys, Young Socceroos, Olyroos, Football and Futsal nationals in the Australian Footall forum they were moved to grassroots and now your telling us to post them there? I didnt realise that because a forum got less traffic than another it was not worthy or does it cost more money when there is not much traffic?
Anyway thanks for your response, maybe one day more football supporters will have an interest in grassroots development.

Aussiesrus wrote:Stupid move to rename it State League as it has just culled the largest portion of real grass roots.
Grass roots majority of readers included association football which encompasses competitions like Champions of Champions and State Cups etc etc etc.
Targetting a smaller audience are we?
All RSS removed from my website in protest.

Edited by Aussiesrus: 24/2/2011 03:18:01 PM Not to mention football and futsal nationals, NTC challenges, AIS initiatives, Joeys, Young Socceroos and Olyroos news. Do they belong in State League Football? A little dissappointed I am. Can you now create a Forum for all these topics? Or do I have to carry on like a pork chop and get banned before it happens?](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
