I guess Scoue_remora it is too get away from you and ensure that you don't hastle him from the sidelines at A-league games anymore. As you have never been further south than Gundiwindi he has nothing to worry about.

Gee what a wanker. Could not get a contract so he comes running home after he slagged off the entire "anglo" population of this country. He was the one making sweeping generalizations and being racist. What a tosser. No matter what spin he or his management try to put on this, the fact is he failed dismally to get a contract in Croatia, Germany, or Switzerland because everybody knows he is unstable and a liability.

Total goose this Lubo. Even living in newcastle doesn't make you as much of an idiot as this bloke is.

you new breeders are morons.. all transfer windows are shut.. i have it on good authority he has offers from FC thun, Basel and 1 other club, will keep fit here until June and then go over for pre-season.
Respect the past, South are the biggest club outside of the A-league, in terms of assets and stature still bigger than some A-League clubs. Good choice, he will give something to the boys before he goes overseas for good.

Wow, phenomenal signing for South Melbourne. He should be able to tear it up. Pity we can't see the VPL on the TV. I need something to watch in the off season and it is the only league I would watch below the A league, apart from some games in Brisbane.

@Vic-Soccerfan-09: Sorry mate but sounds like BS to me. If one of those clubs were keen on him then he would have stayed there and just trained. Surely training at one of the top clubs in switzerland is far better than playing in a semi professional team in the VPL.
Secondly he had plenty of oppurtunity to join one of these clubs as the transfer window for free agents was open til a little over a week ago.
He clearly just couldnt get a deal.

Good work by the club. As long as he plays well and contributes I'm not too fussed about it being just a couple of months loan signing. Will generate a bit more publicity for the VPL than what those FFV fuckwits do, which is absolutely nothing.
If he wasn't a nutcase then he would probably be in the Socceroo squad so bringing a player of that quality to South is a coup.
Now just keep your mouth shut Ljubo and just play!!!!!!

I actually dont want him to keep his mouth shut, if he is coming to South i expect some good gimmick value out of him...he can start by taking a crack at the ffv lol.

He's a free agent, therefore he can sign for any club that wants him today(even if the transfer window in that league is closed). Would appear that no club wants him at present (apart from South).

Laughing stock, embarrassment, muppet. Take your pick Ljubo. They all fit. Don't be surprised if any one of the millions you insulted takes a swipe at you - on the pitch, in the car park or at one of your favourite seedy nightclubs. And no-one will shed a single tear. Buy yourself a one way ticket to Croatia and stop polluting our beautiful city.

Someones going to have to show Ljubo how to find the State League Football Section. One would think Asia would be interested in Ljubo...Asia has discotheques don't they?

Lubo is for football what Fevola is for footy. Something not quite right. He had a great opportunity at MV but he blew it at the beginning for lack of discipline. As a footballer he is not bad, and in footy Fevola is not bad either. It is what he display in terms of personality what makes him a misfit. What is it with the bloke that he always seem to go in circumstances where the club he played for and himself finish unhappy. One have to concede it is something wrong with the way he sees the World because he can play football. Anyhow, I am sorry to hear that Eddie who was such a good player in Europe and such a good coach when we had the Carlton soccer club needs to coach at South Melbourne. What a pity, Eddie deserves better than that.

Guys are over reacting here? Here's only taking up a short term stint with South Melbourne for fitness - sheesh, I hope some have read the article fully? It still seems likely he'll end up in Europe, even if it's 'just Switzerland again' - which I must say is still an excellent outcome for him.
BTW The fact he's even coming back to Australia after his infamous rant - I think that shows he's cooled down a lil, after spending that good month or so abroad. Again I might mention that that rant was in the immediate aftermath of the Jets debacle and some too may say that his having a drink at the end of it, showed he may not have been entirely sober. We all know he's a loose cannon sort of deal, but he still deserves a chance...
And while I have not followed the AFL, let alone Fevola, that closely, I don't think from what little I know, it's a fair comparison in some ways. Ljubo is a more sensitive and thinking kind of guy, albeit prone to some less diplomatic 'views/outbursts.' But guys like Fevola are known for their drama off the field more related to like that 'Brownlow Episode' etc... It sounds weird to say this, but I think in 'relative terms' Ljubo is more professional, too professional and even a good news comeback story (Albeit his ego too), where these other AFL blokes just party, take drugs (like Ljubo has alluded to), womanise, indecent public stunts and some even enter into criminal behaviour (drugs, treatment of women, assaulting people etc...).
We can be proud that the 'so-called' worst our code can come up with in this country, are the likes of Ljubo and maybe the Kruse's, in his brief foray off the tracks - Rather than the monsters and their horror stories we hear from AFL and NRL.
Lest the recent St Kilda crap remind people of the big differences?

Apologies my language was clumsy - I suppose I shouldn't talk in degrees and again some of Ljubo's behaviour/rants/patterns of falling outs have certainly been questionable/ill advised and I certainly don't condone support all of it (The stuff in public that is), even if we believe in free speech etc...
I just meant to compare the likes of he from our code with AFL and NRL and their extremely low/appalling standards is just errant. This code and what it has is modest compared to their issues and we can be thankful for that!

Rumour is he already has his deal in Europe, but with money being tight over there they can't pick him up until players currently under contract have moved on. So Ljubo will hang around at home in Melbourne, keep fit with SMFC, then go over. It appears that he's not interested in Asia.

Yes Yes Megnut SMFC is scoring goals through Eddies son Jessie but its defence is leaking like a siv and they desperately need a central defender as they conceded 4 last week. Hence the signing of ol' Juubo. SMFC is also close to Prahran niteclub the Love Machine his Melbourne hangout!!
