Derby match at marconi stadium. I am going to try and get along, surely a big game like this would be a good intro to the NSWPL?
Also does anybody know what ticket prices are like in the NSWPL?

Also does anybody know what ticket prices are like in the NSWPL? Most places it's $10 Adult, $5 kids. I think that's APIAs prices anyway. They're not expensive by any means i wouldn't think,

Cannot wait for this saturday night at marconi, the local derby, and your right marconi has poor crowds all the time. I also think the capitol hill cup is at stake as well, happens every year between these two clubs in a two legged match throughout the season, i think United have taken it home 4 years in a row if im correct?

Cant remember the last time Marconi won the Cup. I wonder if we still win cash for it, it was worth about 30k during the NSL, IIRC
Mini- we dont get shit for that lol. Meh, I dont mind paying it if little contributions like this keep us amongst the favourites every season

Wouldnt be surprised to see either of them (if not both) on the bench this weekend

Parramatta's Coach Brian Dene has resigned - apparently he's working too hard at Newington college  Quote:Parramatta FC rocked by coach resignation Soccer 30 Mar 11 @ 06:23am by Steven Deare Parramatta's Kutaiba Elrich contests the ball against Bonnyrigg's Chris Tadrosse. PICTURE: Damian Briggs PARRAMATTA FC came within 60 seconds of a shock victory in its NSW Premier League debut on Sunday, then coach Brian Dene surprised everyone.
An impressive Parramatta display, which included former Newcastle Jet Fabien Iacovelli’s two goals, forced premiers Bonnyrigg to play catch-up football in a 2-2 draw at Melita Stadium.
Yet the Eagles’ result paled in comparison to the news that broke from the club on the weekend.
Dene, who guided Parramatta to promotion from the NSW Super League last year, has offered his resignation to the club board.
He told the Advertiser a combination of work and personal matters had forced his offer.
“I work (at Newington College) on Saturday and most of it is coaching kids,” he said. “You look at the workload and the workload of training three nights a week.
“You do all day Saturday and Sunday, so you are working seven days a week.
“Something’s got to give.”
Personal reasons also played a big part. “It’s not just work, there are other personal things going on but I won’t venture into that,” Dene said.
The board is yet to accept Dene’s offer. One of those board members is Granville District Soccer Football Association president Howard Groom.
He hoped the club could still keep Dene.
“We’re very disappointed that (Brian) needed to do so and we’d encourage him to reconsider,” he said. “We’ve come a long, long way to get back into the Premier League and a lot of that is attributed to Brian.”
Dene said he would give more thought to what was proving a difficult decision. “I’ll make a decision later this week,” he said.
Parramatta travel to Wollongong on Sunday to play South Coast Wolves.

Quote: Marconi Stallions set to battle Sydney United for Capitol Hill Cup The rivalry between two of the country’s most well-known football clubs is set to continue, when the Marconi Stallions and Sydney United do battle in Round 2 of the NSW Premier League, this Saturday, at Marconi Stadium 7.30pm. More than just the usual three competition points are on the line for the two local combatants, with the match also acting as the first leg in the traditional Capitol Hill Estate Cup, which is now in its eighth year. The Capitol Hill Estate Cup and the NSW Premier League Premiership trophy hold prime positions in the Sydney United trophy cabinet, results of a great season enjoyed by United in 2010. Luke Casserley’s men will certainly be aiming to put a stop to this with a huge game expected at Marconi Stadium against Jean Paul de Marigny’s squad. The Capitol Hill Estate Cup was formed as part of a tribute to the two Clubs’ most famous contest, the 1988 National Soccer League (NSL) Grand Final. In one of the most pulsating and edge-of-your-seat matches ever played in the NSL, the Stallions prevailed 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out, after the scores were locked together at 2-2. Both teams scored goals in extra-time and had players sent off, during the marathon match played in front of packed crowd at Parramatta Stadium. The Marconi Stallions will be out to challenge Sydney United for the Cup ownership and bragging rights for 2011. Whilst the Stallions did reach the 2009 Grand Final in spectacular fashion with the 4-2 drubbing at the expense then Premiers Sydney United and the jubilation of winning the McDonalds Cup, the Capitol Hill Estate Cup has left a vacant and wanting space in our trophy cabinet. This match has a lot to offer to the football fans like first encounter between the Coaching Master, De Marigny and the Coaching Novice, Casserly. The deadly finishing of of Matthew Mayora and Luka Glavas, to the shot stopping exploits of Goalkeeper of the Year James Chronopoulos and the keen eye of his opposite Vedran Janjetovic. The football fans can bank on another TITANIC battle for early bragging rights in the 2011 campaign. The first leg of the Capitol Hill Estate Cup will be played at Marconi Stadium this Saturday, 2nd April. The second leg will be played at Sydney United Sports Centre on Sunday 19th June. For the record Sydney United have taken out the Cup four times while the Stallions three. Previous Capitol Hill Estate Cup Results: 2004: Sydney United 1-1 Marconi Stallions(1st leg) Marconi Stallions 3-0 Sydney United (2nd leg) WINNERS: MARCONI STALLIONS 2005: Marconi Stallions 2-3 Sydney United WINNERS: SYDNEY UNITED 2006: Sydney United 1-3 Marconi Stallions (1st leg) Marconi Stallions 1-1 Sydney United (2nd leg) WINNERS: MARCONI STALLIONS 2007: Sydney United 0-0 Marconi Stallions (1st leg) Marconi Stallions 3-1 Sydney United (2nd leg) WINNERS: MARCONI STALLIONS 2008: Sydney United 3-0 Marconi Stallions (1st leg) Marconi Stallions 2-2 Sydney United (2nd leg) WINNERS: SYDNEY UNITED 2009: Sydney United 2-1 Marconi Stallions (1st leg) Marconi Stallions 1-2 Sydney United (2nd leg) WINNERS: SYDNEY UNITED 2010: Marconi Stallions 0-3 Sydney United (1st leg) Sydney United 2-0 Marconi Stallions (2nd leg) WINNERS: SYDNEY UNITED http://www.nswpl.com.au/index.php?id=554&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4858&tx_ttnews[backPid]=537&cHash=63f379498b So Marconi haven't won it since 2007 and I expect that to continue this weekend.

Quote: NSW Premier League Round 2 Preview Round 2 NSW Premier League action has four of the six fixtures set for Saturday evening football. Bonnyrigg White Eagles open proceedings in their first match at home for the season against A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt Tigers in what promises to be a very entertaining match between two very astute passing sides. The White Eagles will be eager to release the frustration built up following the 2-2 draw against Parramatta FC in the opening round after being denied goals by a very well organised outfit at Melita Stadium. The Tigers too pride themselves on a strong defensive unit, and the team from Leichhardt will be out to deny the White Eagles playmakers any room on Saturday. Coming off a draw at Rockdale against the Suns last weekend, the Tigers will be hoping to add to their tally of points before debuting at home next weekend. The first derby of the season takes place on Saturday evening at Bicentennial Park(South) in Rockdale as the Suns meet Bankstown City, with kick-off set for 7:00 PM. Traditionally two stern rivals, the Suns will be eager to repeat the feat of last season’s fixture at home when the ‘relatively unknown’ Suns defeated their more fancied rivals. Lee Sterrey has enjoyed a positive pre-season with his side, and the former Marconi boss will be hoping to see more of the positives to come out of the opening round draw with A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt. Bankstown City’s opening day loss at home against Marconi Stallions sees the side start the season on the back foot, though the club’s ambitions for a successful 2011 remain intact. New coach Blagoja Kuleski has had to deal with a number of player changes at the team, and may need a few more weeks to get the best out of his new team. Even with the changes though, Bankstown City supporters will certainly be expecting their side to leave no stone unturned against the Suns on Saturday. The second of the derby’s for the season takes place at Marconi Stadium on Saturday evening with the Stallions hosting their neighbours, Sydney United. An impressive win against Bankstown City in Round 1, inspired by a Nahuel Arrarte ‘screamer’ has the Stallions off to a positive start, meanwhile Sydney United will be smarting after conceding an injury time penalty to be denied maximum points at home against Manly United. In a fixture that always produces emotion, and goals, fireworks are expected out of Marconi Stadium on Saturday night. On Sunday afternoon, Manly United FC will be buzzing following their last-ditch effort at Sydney United last weekend that salvaged Craig Midgley’s men a point. Midgley will be looking for more of the same from his players, though perhaps a little more accuracy in the final third with the side’s finishing. Sutherland Sharks kick-started their campaign with an exceptional first-up scalp - that of reigning Champions, Blacktown City FC. The Sharks will again look at Jim Bakis and Panni Nikas to create chances in the attacking third, with Sam Awad and Tim Halloran more than capable of finding the back of the net. Sydney Olympic are up next and they tackle Blacktown City FC at Lily Homes Stadium with kick off set for 3pm. The Blues objective will be to keep building on the performance given against South Coast Wolves in Round 1, where the side secured a comfortable 3-0 win. Coach Peter Tsekenis has found an additional outlet for goals this season with Alex Smith claiming all three of the goals in the defeat of the Wolves. Equally as important for Tsekenis will be the settling in to the squad of his new signings Robbie Mileski, Bill Tsianidis and Ibrahim Haydar. The former Bankstown City trio certainly did play well in their first official outing, and more of the same will be required against Blacktown City FC. Blacktown City FC’s first round travels proved unsuccessful with the defending champions collecting a loss at Sutherland. Experienced campaigners Luke Roodenburg, Matthew Pressello and Tyler Simpson will be expected to lead the way, with coach Mark Crittenden hopeful that his side will build on the positive second 45’ minutes seen against Sutherland last weekend. In the weekend’s final fixture, South Coast Wolves will be out to make amends for the opening round loss to Sydney Olympic, as Parramatta FC visit John Crehan Park. Trevor Morgan was disappointed with his side’s slackness in conceding goals against Sydney Olympic, though the chances created, especially from new signing Sasho Petrovski, certainly do create a lot of excitement around the Wolves team. Parramatta FC made a tremendous start to the season, holding the defending Premiers Bonnyrigg White Eagles to a draw. Captain Ben Delicata and Chris Camilleri will again be vital to the side’s chances of gaining a result, meanwhile two-goal hero Fabien Iacovelli will be out to add to his Round 1 brace. -By Joseph Carlucci http://www.nswpl.com.au/index.php?id=554&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4850&tx_ttnews[backPid]=537&cHash=cf740c6f67

So contrary to reports yesterday it seems Brian Dene is staying on. Good news. Quote: Brian Dene stays on as Parramatta Eagles FC Head Coach Contrary to various Sydney local media reports stating that Brian Dene has resigned as head coach of NSW Premier League club Parramatta Eagles FC has come the news that he will remain as the number one man in the hot seat till the end of the season. Dene has been able to appoint former Sydney Olympic coach Pat Marando as the Eagles’ assistant coach, one move that has delighted the Eagles boss. “Pat will make my life a little easier and will take that added pressure off me during the week.” Dene has a number of commitments not only being Newington’s Assistant Sports Master and Director of Football at the private school, but also juggling his personal commitments with his family. “Every day is pretty much tied up with work and football and I don’t have a chance to spend time with the family and other personal duties. “With Pat on board it will certainly lessen the work load.” Dene had a great start to his NSW Premier League campaign as the Eagles drew 2-2 with last season’s Premiers Bonnyrigg White Eagles and understands the huge task his side has to back the result up with their round 2 clash against the South Coast Wolves on Sunday at John Crehan Park. “Last weekend’s result was fantastic for the club and the players. “Seeing the crowd at Melita Stadium and receiving their support was terrific but we need to get on with the job this weekend. “The Wolves in my opinion will be much tougher and the players need to know that they will be in for a huge battle come Sunday.” -Football NSW Media Release http://www.nswpl.com.au/index.php?id=554&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4861&tx_ttnews[backPid]=537&cHash=b6e3f3a9db
