What would u do if you where the coach

What changes would u make
Do u think you need a few new defenders

Why did the Parramatta players stop playing
Thought if u played like the first half you
could of won

I dont think the coach is the only problem

Who would you like to see coach the side

Your blaming the coaches but dont you think your
players arent good enough

What position was Petratos playing today lol

Could of put him up front rather that wat position he was playing

i'm not blaming the ex-coach.....not at all....and your dead right there are a few problems that need to be resolved......instability is one.....need a new coach to come in and galvanise the players, get them believing in themselves again.......

At the begining of the season, GDSFA frigged around with the player contracts and we lost a good centre back and a midfielder .....all because someone was on holidays and wouldnt let anyone else do the contract/payment negotiations...so at the end of the day several players left and the rest were hung out until 2 weeks before the season started......eventually the coach had to do it anyway...this pissed the playing group off no end.....you would be well aware that when players are paid and treated well they perform better, thats a no brainer.....

then there are a couple of players the coach played who havent put in and they start every week, dont know if this is the old boys club telling him who he has to play....not sure...but brian dene doesnt strike me as a guy who would walk away from something unless he was really unhappy and not having his chance to play who and how he wants to.......

your comments about what position petratos played is spot on the money, this is happening throuhout the squad, players playing way out of position due to injury, lack of depth in the squad ETC.......

at the moment after the coach dene's left the morale of the team has hit rock bottom.....its hard to keep positive and motivated with all the turmoil surrounding this club at the moment......like:

pay cuts from last season to start with.
delay in signing players and several walking due to poor management.
coach resigns and then is reinstated.
players played who arent putting in......
player injuries at around 6 players as of yesterday's game
assistant coach and head coach sharing sessions and sending different messages to the playing group.
coach resigns and resignation is accepted.

Id love to know what coaches have put there CV's in for the job,i know 1 coach who has applied, and he has had alot of success in preventing clubs from relegation...and they players like him and about 6 players have played for him before, so to me for a half season contract he would be a good choice......

but you know what happens when borads get together, anything is possible.....really for a club to operate well it needs a good board, a good coach and a good team and then your not guaranteed a good result.....

Ok if i were coach, id look for a solid left back, a screening defensive midfielder and an out and out quality striker, the existing midfield are making plenty of chances but we are not finishing.....simple as that.....we have made enough chances to have won at least 4 matches this year yesterday was one of them, 4 wins is 12 points, then we wouldnt be the laughing stock of the NSWPL would we????? and sadly there are a few players (4) that i would have to let go and with those extra $$$$ id search for what i need......

Edited by batfink: 6/6/2011 09:05:00 AM

while there is merit in some of what you say, a lot of the issues you have identified above is what happens at most PL clubs. for example, you talk about players playing out of position, or issues with coaches, mate, weve had the same issues at rockdale. you spoke about injuries, well were still missing our two best players in tiroski and lagoudakis. players not putting in- well until yesterday our two first choice strikers hadnt scored all season.
im not saying you guys dont have issues, but most teams have issues. just ask tony raciti at apia. cant wait to read his pre game write up for this weekends game after the marconi game.

as for relegation, had it not been for your 20's, you guys would of been gone already. they have given you hope. bonno will climb because their first grade squad is too strong and first grade points are crucial. bankstown's fortunes will hinge on what happens off the field.

anyway, we didnt play well yesterday but we'll take the 3 points and good to see our 20's get a point, they all count.

one of the olympic kids mentioned on here their crowds were the highest last year even though they finished second last? turn it up champ. nowhere near it.
i think the same kiddie asked as to the whereabouts of komiti. not sure to be honest, theyre mainly kids like your little posse of ultras, although they dotn talk themselves up. dont get me wrong, im all for the fan culture, but against us last week, and considering how the game was going, i didnt hear anything from your supposed well travelled and loud supporter group. they werent even there. the only one who was letting rip with the occasional outburst was well, we all know who. and good on him. adds colour to the games.

anyway, thank god we got the points. not over for you guys batfink, hope you guys find a decent coach cause theres definitely some talent in the ranks. and nothign wrong with blooding a few more of the kids from the 20's given how they have been going.

ultra boys, no doubt it would of been disappointing to lose against bonno, but youre right, you guys are nicely placed considering the second half of the season will be played at belmore.

I already said it on another forum that I was expecting us to lose against BWE. Credit to them, they did well against the top 2 sides, and now I will not be suprised one bit if they eventually mount a challenge for Minor Premiership.

all of what you say is obvious, tell me somethin i dont know.......i have been involved in NSWPL first grade teams so i know what happens, thats standard practice.

playing a striker at right fullback, what would you say to that????? thats what i mean about out of position....not a right midfielder playing left midfield or striker......or a striker playing in midfield, thats ok, some players are utility players like my son, he can play anywhere in midfield and strike as well......

we arent done yet, it all hinges on the coach they appoint now and if he has people skills and can instill some belief in the squad.....and can bring in a couple of good players to plug the hole.......im an eternal optimist i never give up......ever...... lets hope we can find that coach who can stabilise the club......

why were you expecting to lose....????

is it because youve been going so well so far and you sort of expect to have a loss sometime and it was then???????

No offence, but you really seem to struggle coming to terms with the fact that Parra are nothing more than an average side at best.

no offence taken........

No offence, but i dont agree, i dont think an average side could get some of the results we have achieved......like

beat manly 5-1
a 1-0 loss to olympic who are setting the world on fire
a 2-2 draw with bonnyrigg and we really should have gotten the points
a 1-0 loss to sutherland currently 2nd
a 1-0 loss to sydney united currently 3rd

yes we need to get it together, like a coach would be a good start, a couple of players would also help......but its not the end of the world....we will improve if we can just get these problems sorted out.....obviously you dont read the parra match reviews, 80% agree with me......

but the haters are gonna hate......

wasnt me wh posted it but i did read it. look, he wears his heart on his sleeve and he demands success. nothing wrong with that. it was just unusual that he should do it in his match day program i think it was. more common for the club bosses to sit down with the coaches/players in the sheds after training or pre game to give em a rev up. this one was public.

a few teams will be looking to plug holes in the trf window but the biggest problem is finding players who are free. i mean, even if u have a decent player at another club languishing on the bench or in reserves, that club will still be reluctant to release him to another club mid season. best bet is to find a diamon in the rough in the super league, even then not easy. oh and the other issue will be $$$. do you guys ahve the $$$ to be dishing out for mid season reinforcements?

i wouldnt think they have the money, the players took a pay cut for the sake of the club, and the GDSFA were naive with there initial budget, and i hear what your saying regarding finding players.....but where there is a will there is a way.....does the GDSFA and the new coach (whoever is appointed) have the will...?

didnt agree with the public airing of opinion by the APIA dude.......in management you praise in public and discipline in private......

Mate there were 800 people through on the gate on Saturday for the BWE v Olympic game.

As confirmed by Mandic - the GM.

I'd say the majority would have been BWE fans.

Not the thousands you Olympic guys claim to travel down with.

And share with a league club.

Most other clubs in the league have their OWN ground except Olympic and do not share.

We get a lot more then 600 + what we rent out has our offices, trophy room, media room, physio room and the best Corporate Boxes in the League included in the price. It was the only Ground for hire that had sufficient needs for the Clubs. Should look beyond just the seating capacity.

you gotta love the olympic ultras kiddies keyboard warriors. all huffing and puffing about their great stadium, their fantastic crowds and the like. fact of the matter is, considering olympic were for years NSL heavyweights, they have absolutely nothing to show for it. the classic eternal nomad. whilst its great to be playing out of belmore, it will be interesting to see how things pan out once the dogs move their admin back there, their training, their junior reps, nsw cup fixtures and the like.

any idea where your youth league will be playing?

the boat has well and truly come and gone. sad really. at its peak olympic were bigger than marconi and syd croatia and whilst those two clubs have something tangible to show for it, olympic have nothing.

relegation is between bankstown, rockdale and bonnyrigg as far as the club championship table goes, but we all know how FNSW work......

Parramatta are the ONLY ones facing relegation, and they will be relegated, you can count on that.

At the moment the way it stands Bankstown are facing relegation, and Parra are fairly safe for the moment barring any kind of financial meltdown.

My understanding is that the bottom placed team is relegated. I don't see anybody other than Parramatta for the wooden spoon.
