Was it just me or did he look really old in the China match? What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Schwarzer---->Fiorentina?? [RUMOUR]? Have your say.

If Schwarzer heads to Italy he'll become another Kalac. Cant have that happen to our No 1 keeper. He needs to remain playing 1st class footballer and keeping the No 1 slot, Mark still has 3-4 years of first class football left in him, if not longer.

He would most probably stay in the UK. Although, as mk mentioned, a move to Germany might not be a bad move. He has verbalised this in the past.

Kalac has played the majority of Milan's games this season because Dida is always injured. But I get your point.

Where ever Schwarzer goes, he must ensure he has the no.1 spot. The only reason he is the undisputed Socceroos no.1 goalie is because he is the only unretired Australian goalkeeper attaining regular first team football in one of the major European leagues. If he begins to spend time on the bench, than the younger opinions like Federici look much more interesting.

Why not? He 35, not getting any younger and might take a big contract if someone would fork out the cash. I know he wants to go to south africa, so does covic and hes not doing himself any harm playing in the A-league. Infact covic has become more in the frame from coming home.

He is also rumoured to be going to Celtic, but after Strachan's behaviour in regards to Scott McDonald, I wouldnt' want any other Aussie going there at all.

Very good move, though i wouldn't say its likely. As long as he plays regularly its not too important, he just has to stay in a top league.

tbh, i don't really care where he goes. i sincerely doubt he'll be first choice [or even third choice...] keeper for the 2010 world cup. that's if we qualify.

He's old now, surely its time to look at alternatives and build for the WC2010, plus we'll need a keeper for the Asian Cup the following year, so the job is for someone for both campaigns, whereas Schwarzer will probably retire after WC2010.

I would love to see Verbeek take a ton of youth to the World Cup... I know this is very out-there, and won't happen, but I'd love to see the likes of Bouzanis, Vukovic, Spiranovic, and all the usual youth names that get thrown around [Vidosic and whoever else.] If we got rid of Verbeek, and got a really high-profile Manager in, with plenty of experience, and sent in a ton of youth, it'd be great. I know other's will probably shoot the idea down, but I'd love to see it... Also, we can't build to the 2010 World Cup like it's the be all and end all, we have to be giving our youth experience, because after the World Cup, we'll have a ton of guys retire, and at this stage, we need to keep building the game in this country. I think Schwarzer is Australia's 'keeper at the moment because he's the only one getting regular Football, so once some of our youth get game time, he'll be as good as gone.
