Roar #1 wrote:X2 Quote:we Need a decent CB I think Jurman and Hingert will step up this yr. Possibly have Hingert LB and push Steff into CB. Last season Steff would tire towards the end of the game because he was making alot of runs down the line but is still very solid defender and Hingert looked great going forward when he come on. Possibly even have Donachie play more matches in the first team. He looked very good in his debut and he captained the U19's the other day. Stef isn't made to be a CB in the A-league, he's really only worth his salt as a wing back and even then he's getting old. I'd want to see more of Hingert before I put all my support behind his claim, but to date I've been happy with his performances even if he's not a natural LB. I'm not sure who, but it was mentioned that we should sign another CB to partner Smith because if we went with Smith and Jurman/Donachie and Smith got injured, that's a rather inexperienced pairing the middle, forcing Eric back and he's best in his current role. A loan deal for a youngster from Japan wouldn't go well in this case unless he's a damned wonderkid. But it might help us out with another striking option to back up Berisha. I know Proia is there, but he's making the jump himself this season.

I think our transfers activity will be pleasing to some and very disheartening to others.

I can't see us filling both of the foreigner spots as one would have to sit out the ACL, that spot should be filled with a Youth Team player instead. And we need to find an Asian player so that will be our only foreigner signing. Hopefully a speedy attacking player, anyone have any ideas on who Rado may bring in ? Henrique should become naturalized in January so that won't be a problem again, unless we sign another visa player in that transfer window.

Then it will be a race between these two for the last ACL spot (Barring injury). Just in case Henrique's naturalization is delayed.

Quote:Braved the rain this morning to watch the lads train. They all looked incredibly sharp for only their 2nd training session. Started with some dynamic warm-ups, went into some half field sprints (without the ball), then into a passing drill and finished with an intense game. The only new face aside from Halloran was a dark boy running laps and doing some rehab work. Looked to be in his early to mid 20's, and had some serious pace. Going on appearance I'd say he looked South American.
All in all was very impressed with everything on show, especially the attitude of the boys this early in pre-season. Steff and Smithy were barking orders at a few of the younger boys, and were really taking things seriously. Probably too early to call, but I'd say we are in for another successful season.

I know, it's about the knew Roary isn't it? Seriously though, my guess is what you're talking about has a distinct Indonesian flavour about it.

Hahahaha, no, its not about the new Roary. Nahaz99 wrote:I recognize you can't divulge names, but can you confirm we are looking at players?
I'd be one of the disheartened fans if we didn't sign anyone else. I can confirm that it has to do with transfers. I cant confirm if we are looking at players as the word from the club is very vague and not clear.

I find nothing more frustrating than somebody saying 'I know something' then saying 'oh but I can't tell you its a secret'. Best to say nothing at all ffs unless attention is the thing most craved.

Makes it harder to focus on work haha. Damn off season seems to be dragging on forever.

Apparently Western Sydney have a mortgage on any player which grew up in Western Sydney. Even if the player grew up in North Sydney, Eastern Suburbs, or anywhere else in the greater Sydney region, if they once bought a falafel at Punchy then they are officially Wanderers property if they ever step foot in the country again
