So what formation did we play?
How did Liftin go?
How did Acton go? Whenever I've seen him warm-up before a game he has some real butterfingers.

The twitter updates suggest he pulled off some good saves. Anyone know why Henrique and Donachie didn't play?

He did spill one simple cross which could have lead to a goal. No idea on Henrique or Donachie. I could swear I saw Kofi there but it was from a distance so could be wrong.

How did Acton go? Whenever I've seen him warm-up before a game he has some real butterfingers. Was at the game. Acton done ok, did pull off a couple of good saves. Had a mix up with Smith in front of us trying to defuse a dangerous cross in the first half. Called for it even though Smith looked to have it covered and clattered into the back of him, spilled the ball which was cleared by some scrambling defence. There wasn't much he could do about the goal, again it was just a scramble in the box, ball could have gone anywhere, just in this case it eventually fell in front of a lions player who slotted it away. Liftin had some good moments and not so good, couple of wayward passes supplemented by a couple of good ones. Didn't stand out in my mind. 1st half attack was not so crash hot cause the passes didn't look like they were sticking. 2nd half attack was much better, and I thought the combination down our right with Bratten feeding it was especially effective, although I couldn't tell you who they were! (if someone could point them out please:) )They made some nice runs behind the defence and a couple of good crosses, one of which found an unmarked player in front of goal only for the header to only just go over a bar! Left attack not so effective in my eyes, couldn't beat their man, and their runs weren't so incisive. Sorry, I couldn't see the formation properly, was behind the goals, but if I was to take a stab at it, maybe 4-3-3? I don't know :( Mulvey, 1stly wasn't too happy at some of the challenges the Lions players were doing lol Second, looks like he was trying to whole "pass the ball to the back of the net", which was frustrated by a tight Lions defence and wasn't working well. 2nd half they did have a couple of shots from range, but generally passed it around the defence looking for an opening. The not so highlight of the match (other than the goal of course) was the 2nd half right attack cluttering into each other while they were interchanging passes, looked comical and brought a laugh from the crowd lol All in all, it wasn't such a bad night despite the score line, that's pre-season for you.

Who was the big guy that played in the centre of defence with Smith in the first half? I think he was wearing #38.

Adnan was the player we never replaced last season, but now with North and Donachie around, i cant see how we can fit him in.
Paulytv are going to have highlights up from every Roar pre season game again.

Brattan is going to be such a beast for us this season. Can't wait to see more of Doe as well. They both played well in the time they were on. #11 for them was Jura Gros, and he played quite well, particularly in the first half.

Can't wait to see more of Doe as well. agreed, both looked very good. all the first team players looked pretty good actually, also i thought nikkas looks interesting.I know it was the first game but i was dissapointed with ferria and petratos. i thought some of the trialist where better and they had no a league experience.

In the first half quite a few guys were under hitting passes maybe it was a problem with the surface? Petratos looks interesting. Has plenty to work on but he's not afraid to take someone on and whip in a cross. That could be really good for Bes particularly late in matches.

@KorFootballNews is reporting that Do Dong-Hyun has signed for FC Gifu. Yet to see an official statement from either club though. EDIT: I had a man look. He's signed up http://www.fc-gifu.com/news/post-2345.htmlGood news for us! Opens up that import spot. Edited by cynikles: 19/7/2013 01:35:25 PM

Good luck to him. Hopefully we have enough cap space for a quality CAM.

Still nothing inspirational to see. What's Muley up to other than a guaranteed ordinary season?

Based on the first half tonight, there's lots to look forward to this season with Miller and Broich playing together!

So as of right now, our team for next season. Theo Hingert North Smith Stef Lamba Brattan Miller Franjic Berisha Broich I'd expect that midfield trio to be constantly rotating throughout a match. We really need a new CAM. While at some stage I expect to see Brown replace Stef at LB. It's actually quite a strong S11.

Currently up 5-0 over Albany. Goals from Murray 2, Brown, Diogo Ferreira and Petratos.
Lambadaridis has been stretchered off. :(
Jamie Young is also meant to be on trial for us.

Not at the game, no idea what the line-up is either. Kofi Danning was warming up with the guys pre-game. He's meant to of bulked up as well. Meanwhile Do was a sub in the J-league 2 last night. http://www.j-league.or.jp/data/view.php?d=j2&t=result&y=NEW0100&l=E

State League player? I think
Also I really hope we are looking at better players than Kofi. I'd take him if we hadn't already got Petratos but we don't have room for two inconsistent ex Sydney wingers. Really need another genuine ready to go quality first 11 player I feel
