just wondering if as a victory supporter you enjoyed the match more than a neutral would this last wknd? you must have been cursing a couple of times there at being behind, you would have been gunning for a win at the end and pretty happy with a draw considering being down by two goals twice. but i mean as a neutral i enjoyed the game for the quality of attacking play and passing to feet. such an amazing game to watch and the whole see-sawing nature of the game left me on the edge of my seat without having to worry about my team coming away with nothing. what do you think?

crazy start to the year for you guys. two home games, one point, muscat injured. must have taken the wind out of the sails a little after last year.

can't believe the crowds are down. i swear i read somewhere that melb memberships were expected to rocket up this year. 18,000 members before the first match and not even that many turn up to watch the game.

i'd kill for those numbers in sydney though. i think the SFS admin crew are trying to save money on revenue available for tax or something because i promise you (as a syd member for four years) there were much more than 14,700 at the ground sunday.

^^anth, just on you thinking there were more than 14,700 at the ground on Sunday.....you were probably right. They get the attendances wrong a fair bit. Like in V3 when Newcastle played QLD in the prelim final, the ground was packed, I thought close to 24k-ish. The 'official figure' was only 16k. Which many people thought was complete and utter BS.

yeah they used to do that in the old nsl days too methinks. the year(s) sydney olympic played at shark park in cronulla they claimed 7000-ish crowds. a few months earlier i was at sharks games at the same ground that were stated as 12-15000 and couldn't see much difference.

I don't follow a team at the moment in the HAL, live in Melbourne but I don't like Merrick so not victory. Most likely will follow heart. Have a soft spot for wellington because of the colours.

Don't get me wrong I think the HAL is the greatest thing to ever happen in Australian soccer so i still go and watch it but Im there as a neutral more than a fan of Victory. And watching the fans and chanting at a Victory game is great but the style of soccer that Merrick employs is boring.

If you ever watch the MLS then you will see a skill level not much better than HAL but a faster more entertaining style of soccer that is what HAL needs.

i just plain dont like victory (on the basis that i follow sydney fc)!

hope you enjoy the hearts team. i am thinking they will be my second favourite team... as long as they manage to beat victory in their derby matches i will be happy. i haven't watched much mls but it is on espn a fair bit so i will have a gander.
