It's for a good cause.

Looks like he played chicken and lost.

Have you seen the video of a man being electrocuted while standing on a train's roof? That is very confronting.

mk, just google video decapitation and have a wank. There are heaps there.
Actually..reminds me of a story I read in mx last week:
"An english meant provessing company has pleaded guilty to breaching health and safety laws after the top of a cleaner's head was cut off in a giant blender.Lynda Trebilock was inspecting a blender when she crouched beneath the machine to inspect a flap - where the load discharged - to enture it was clean. The flap closed suddenly and cut off the top of her head above the eyebrows."

School I used to work at, there was a kid who got his legs taken off whilst playing chicken on the train lines. The kid survived and was fitted with artificial limbs that were basically a glorified pair of trousers.

Little bastard would often lie down in public places, remove his 'trousers' (his shirt would cover up what remained of his lower body) then wait for passing people to faint when they saw an apparently decapitated body in the street.

That's a true story.

I'd want to die if I lost my legs. No way could I make light of it like that. The kid seems a bit of a brat.

Because its such a non issue losing your legs. YOUR FUCKING LEGS! I reckon it would be among the most difficult things to deal with. Losing the ability to wal is one thing. Losing that ability and having your limbs taken away with it makes it all the more tragic.

You'd expect the person to go through a bout of depression afterwars and most probably suicidal thoughts. I personally believe i'd be on the knifes edge.

The only way I'd want the plug to be pulled is that if I was a complete vegetable and sane of mind.

Losing your legs would be traumatic...YES... But at least you have your arms! at least you can still socialise with your mates and maybe even join a disabled rugby or basketball team. Life goes on...

Climing Mt Everest is a real feat of strength. But essentially all you have to do is climb 9000m up some tricky mountainside, have experienced support staff and make sure all resources are sparred evenly. Easy enough form a computer but oceans apart in difference. Again, haivng your legs amputated is very different from losing the ability to use your legs.

You watch too much family guy. I dont want to be Joe.

If you werent married you'd never get married. You'd never have kids. You'd be living the shittest existence ever. You'd have two stumps twice as ugly as the mother in-law you dreamed about. You wouldnt have the confidence to approach any able bodied woman (Best case would be magically having desire a fellow amputee, oh joy!). You'd be a burden to everyone around. You'd be stared at everywhere you go.

Some people could cope but definitely not me. Im actually quite attached to both of my legs. Its not because Im weak, its because I'd lose all my ambition and have no reason to live. I'd just be a pity party on wheels.

What you say is a statement not a fact.

Hypothetically speaking if you were single you could meet other women in the exact same situation which could then lead to a potential marriage.

And I guess I'm not making myself clear...if it were me at any stage of my life and I had the choice between suicide and life...I'd choose life. I cant speak for anybody else but me.

Yes it'll be a horrible experience and probably scar you for life - I had a mate in high school who lost the use of his legs in a car accident - he played table tennis in the Para-Olympics and dated more able women then I ever did.

Have a look at that Navy Diver who lost he legs from a shark attack in Sydney harbour. He was already upbeat and positive in the interview on 60 minutes.

It seemed so weird, they didn't mention anything more about it on the actual show. Kinda hoped it was fake because you'd have to feel for the fella. All this confidence etc crushed on a National TV show.
