There aren't many new accounts though. They were mostly spectators.
Maybe they were preparing for ultra spam - imagine they all were able to sign up and ransack the place :shock;

I was looking at the first bit of the thread subject: It sometimes looks like a message of sorts. Might it/they be taunting us?

Just while you guys figure out a fix obviously I have moderator experience 8-[ :lol: Quote:Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and head to a proper vbulletin install I don't think it's possible to link the article comments to the forum then IIRC :-k Quote:Why/how do people from Bangladesh have computers? Go for it! Maybe we can set up a fund for a PMC to go out and hunt them down.

Can CMS work with smartphone apps? Do you know of apps/sites that have that functionality?
I'd definitely pay a few bob, or more for a decent FFT app without Google ads cluttering up the screen space.

The CMS from memory is for the bloggers to upload their blogs. It has nothing to do with the forums and the crossing over with the articles. vBulletin can't do that and basically the entire website, and forums will have to be done from scratch.
Its not going to happen so no point in keep bringing it up. Its a massive job and there are other priorities in Haymarket atm one would think.
The forums are some Frankenstein code all mixed together to give us what we have and have it linked into the forums. Its all unique and not some out of the box solution, so to speak.
Just keep holding the line in your foxholes and trenches and we'll defeat the Bot o' Spam enemy if we band together!!!11!

The ones that hit WF this morning started literally 5 minutes after I'd shut the computer off and walked out the door. I think we have a snitch...

Well if you need any help, I'm currently at UTC -5 so I could do a bit spring cleaning while you're away.

Nah we are just going to change how things happen around here. The last mod online will lock the entire forum down when he leaves, just like at work :lol:

Would it be that difficult to embed a feed to v-bulletin as the comments section for each article? There's got to be more than one way to skin that cat, surely.

Trying to take the positives out of all these attacks, some of the team names make our A-League team names like Roar, Glory and Fury look semi-respectable. Tennessee Volunteers vs Alabama Crimson Tide

They're getting cheeky. ia00011 and ia00013 sign up last night and post, no sign of ia00012, who signs up this morning and posts in WF.

593 active users - 4 members, 589 spectators. Most users ever online was 1774, Today at 06:16:23.
Whichever countries you're blocking, I don't think it's working.
