We'll take him at CCM. Swap for McBreen? What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Alex Smith: 'My Grand Final Delight'? EXCLUSIVE: Headline-maker Alex Smith says he just wants a chance in the A-League after his stunning volley helped Sydney Olympic lift the NSW Premier League trophy on Monday.Have your say.

He really should get a go in the A-League. Only thing that may hold him back is the fact that he takes up a foriegn spot. Excellent player though and a cracking goal today.

Just so everyone knows, he isnt a striker. He plays best as a midfielder, i heard that Miron wanted an out an out striker, hence why he swapped alex for Maceo. Good luck to him, i hope gets a contract for the Phoenix....after Sunday. :D

He played his best match for us in preseason v Broadbeach when he played in midfield.

Both your clubs should be looking to secure his services. Would look great at the Mariners, in my opinion.

I was very very impressed by this guy a few weeks ago when Olympic beat Sydney FC in a trial. He scored two long range goals (one was disallowed but was clearly a goal), and now he's backed it up again & scored in the same style in the Final. This guy definetly deserves a crack at the A-League.

If Miron wanted a striker then why did he sign him in the first place?

He would be a good fit four either the Jets or the Phoenix, I hope he does get a contract in either case, sounds like he deserves it!

Goal scoring efforts. Great record but didnt produce up here because of injury and stuff.

Great to see a 10k crowd at a NSWPL match (probably be even bigger when they fiddle the figures on wikipedia), just a shame that the moronic Sydney Olympic fans will use this as proof they belong in the A-League.
Newcastle could use Smith, they have foreign spots left.

Good luck to the guy, especially after being treated like crap by the Gold coast. Hope wellington take him on, god knows they need it.

It looks like it was an awesome day. 10,000 crowd for a state league grand final is awesome. It would have to be the biggest for a state league grand final since they bought in national competition in 1977. This doesn't prove that Olympic or Syndey United belong in the A league but it shows that the interest is still their for those sorts of clubs and that they can present a case for joining the A league one day.

I hope we (Nix) sign him too. Even if he is an attacking mid I don't rate what we currently have except for Ifill (too early to tell on Sanchez).
