I sometimes think that number to be greatly inflated. How does it actually calculate the number of people accessing it?? Because if it used the connecting IP, it would get the IP of every server the connection was being routed through if that computer was on a server.

Still... you have a crappy PC and/or connection mk.

1. The number of people "viewing the site" was not 10, 15, or whatever. That's the amount of people viewing the forums, not the entire site.

and b) the last few days our sites have been getting massive traffic due to some stories on some of our other sites, and that's probably why you noticed the slow downs.

The number of members wouldn't do that. :lol: There's usually at least ~15 people viewing the site at anyone one time - whether they are registered or not wouldn't make a difference. Stop making excuses for your crappy connection. :lol:

Hmmm. Its a laptop and i havent switched it off for probably 3 weeks. Its fine now its just when we get a massive influx of people (10) then it slows.

How often do you switch your PC off? I know sometimes when my PCs been on for about a month the internet gets slow in the browsers - and I just reboot.

Doubt it. Never happened before. I think its because we had a whopping 10! registered members on at that time.
