This. It's semi-pro football ffs. I used to hate it when they did it in the NSL. The national anthem should only be played before big occasions in club football(GF and what not) and national team matches, that's it.

Yep... hated it during the NSL, and think it's even dumber now in a semi-pro state league.

National Anthems are for when National Teams play. I can't stand it when it's played at things like AFL games/State of Origin, it's not appropriate. For the football context, it's even less appropriate considering almost 1/4 of a team could be made of foreigners.

Parra have lost the plot. At a time when they need quality players on the park they bring back Grima who couldn't get a run for Marconi. Left Arron on the bench and I already told ya Kabsy is outta there. Another player left friday...Parra is a sinking ship and everyone is running for the life boats.

Things are not good for Parra and won't get any better.

19-SU-58,

Your keeper has been snapped up by Sydney FC due to his good season. So basically being 8th place on the table indicates he is the only one doing any good. Which means your correct about the rest of the team.

Kolner,

Couldn't say too much before.

My grapevine is from the man himself. PM's everyday ;)

Batfink,

Of course WSW picked Kabsy. Graham Arnold has a big wrap on Kabs and his team recently won the NYL for mariners. The only thing Kabs needs is a year in a-league first grade and he will find himself a first team regular which WSW is giving him. Mariners first grade finished top of the table so breaking into the firsts would have taken a few more years. So here he is at WSW.

My lad played and trained with Kabsy at ASA when kabs was 19 and the first time I saw Kabs I knew he was something special. In the blink of eye from the halfway line he had run 25 metres and blasted a 25 metre goal that if you blinked you missed it. His potential is enormous. Big future for that lad.

Anyway so now PFC have Joel Wood as the replacement. I don't know much about Joel. Is he good and going to do the business for PFC?

i knew he was signed at WSWFC but i was asked to keep it quite by you know who......

yeah joel has gone ok so far 2 games 1 goal and he has made a few chances....he is a bit rusty, i don't think he was getting to much game time...he holds the ball up really well and all we need now is a strike partner for him to take some presure off him.......

Kolner,

I think belmore got chopped up pretty badly with all the rain over the last few weeks.

There is a double header at edensor park this weekend. Olympic playing fartans and Blacktown City V Sydney united 58. Firsts and U/20.

Results from last nights matches.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles 1 V 2 APIA Leichhardt Tigers
Marconi Stallions 3 V 2 Parramatta FC

Interesting Bonnyrigg have lost another match. They seem to have lost a little momentum after dropping out of the waratah cup with a draw and a loss. I think their main keeper is O/S trialing at the moment...

Good opportunity for Blacktown City and South Coast Wolves to close the gap.

well it will be waiting with interest to see if nash did indeed carry the ball over the goal line...after the game he was dirty, he reckons he didn't carry it over...and the linesman was trigger happy.......Franko cosi ran the team first half and we were in control and looking good, 1 nil up at half time and in control....sterry came out of the stands at half time and gave them a blast in the changeroom and took over and the downward spiral started......he should just let Cosi do the job.....

FT: United 4-3 Blacktown

MASSIVE win with both Rockdale and Sutherland losing, jumps us above them and into 6th, now just 3 points behind Olympic.

BWE: APIA 1:2

First home defeat for us at home this season, both teams played hard physical game and BWE scored first from penalty just before the end of the first half. Apia started to dominate the second half and their No9 believe it was Ethan Galbreith scored two great goals, one header and one from a great shot from the distance only to get him self sent off, after the second yellow.

It is disappointing to loose but some times this is needed as a wake up call, BWE have a great team this year so I would not panic for now.

This weekend will be a championship decider against the Wolves at home, cracker of the game as we will have the full squad with some players coming back from the injuries.

Branko Culina is SU's coach they are talking about here, his son Jason is injured (he was contracted to Newcastle for big money before his injury)I do not think that he will be playing at this level for the money that is on offer.

No12,

Dunno what was I thinking with regards to Culina, a moment of senility

Indeed a big game for BWE and SCW. If BWE win then the rest won't catch them. If SCW win then the sharks will be circling.

The table is becoming very intense with regards to the top 5 positions. Any slip ups by 3rd, 4th, 5th place will open the doors for a frenzied finish to the season.

Most interesting to see how things pan out in the next few weeks.

Sydneycroatia58,

Sif give my beloved City a tail smacking in both grades. You blokes better take it too some other sides as well otherwise you guys won't be my favourite drum banging supporter group ;) What's it like to have a crowd..Have a crowd boom boom boom!!
