Newcastle have inquired about Celtic captain Stephen McManus. This comes after Celtic inquired about full-back Jose Enrique. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/7851263.stm Edited by Benjo: 27/1/2009 11:07:09 AM

I would very much hope we don't sell him, he's been a great captain for the club, and is our best defender, which is the very last thing we need to be selling.

Quote:You RATE Enrique? He's a fucking joke  Enrique was a quality player in Spain, he hasn't adapted well to the EPL. He still has good days. But he's hardly getting much support from the rest of the team is he? Quote:Arsenal have been told they will have to pay £8m for Charles N'Zogbia with the Newcastle midfielder keen for a "dream" move. (fansfc.com 1320 GMT) 8mil for a guy who wouldn't run if he was being chased by a rabid dog...Pass on that one.

Yes. I wanted hype over Robbie Keane moving back to spurs. I knew it'd interest Man City. They could make a 25mil bid. I fucking saw this happening.

The fact that clubs like Arsenal, United and Milan have all shown interest and he will be giving uo Chempions League football to join them also makes it weirder

I was just on soccernet and they are saying it will only take 4.5 mil for Milan to keep Beckham, now I cant remmeber how much he was payed at Galaxy but it is pretty clear now that it was a collosal waste of money

Wow... I would've thought it'd be a lot more complicated and expensive than that to keep him. The whole thing was a joke though and he never should have gone. Good to see he might still finish his career at the top.

What charlie said. No way is Arry that stupid, Lennon is probably our best player at the moment and Keane and Defoe never could ply together.

Yeah actualy on reading it back i cant make sense of it either, what I was truing to say is that seeing as they have bought back Defoe and Chimbonda and with rumours of Keane its pretty crazy but if they declare dinterest in berba as well you would have to think the board is on drugs. Why would they exchange an awesome young player like Lennon for Keane?

Yeah, I don't think realistically we could get Berba anyway, and to be honest I'd rather we get Fred from Lyon for 3-4 million then Keane for Lennon. If I was given the choice I'd keep Lennon 100 times out of 100.

Its not going to happen. Why would Keane leave Liverpool? They are top of the league, still in FA cup and in the Champions league. Benitez wont get rid of him, the reason he got him in the first place is as a back up and bench player, thats what he will keep on being. What if Torres gets injured?....

This is Lyon and their prize possession (other than Benzema) you're talking about. That offer for Keane has to have come from somewhere. And Spurs is the most reasonable sounding rumour tbh.
