And if any other club had moved for Jones, Fergie would have done exactly the same thing regardless of which club it was. Fergie didn't have any plans to move for Jones this summer but was forced to when it looked like he would move to another club. Sure he paid way more than Jones is worth but that's all I see that's a bit off with the transfer.

That's a hefty fee for Joaquin. I mean, he's good, but he's 29 now... They've had a big summer, but they're mostly signing guys who have had their day (Joaquin, Toulalan, Demichelis and RVN especially)...they should push for europe though.

He wouldn't be a waste... at 8mil he is good value, still young, and a lot of good tools in his bag. Not a starter, but definitely adds something to our midfield.

Sky Italia reporting that Juve have agreed terms with Sergio Aguero, but apparently not with Atletico yet.

When you've already got a midfield with Gerrard, Meireles, and Lucas in it, Aquilani and Spearing provide adequate depth. I think Adam is a waste of money when we need a left winger and a striker and don't have depth there at all. I don't see why we need Adam.

I'll be disappointed if Aguero leaves Atletico. But it's probably time for him to move on to a side that has legitimate title ambitions instead of a club who's going to be mid-table for the next six or seven years of his career.
