jack999 wrote:how did the foreigners play? Kresinger had an entertaining long running battle with Fred, to me seems like a striker that will use size & strength rather than speed and agility (although he does have a bit of toe for a big man). Mooy had a mixture of absolute class and horrible touches. Every time he did something amazing he would follow it up with a horrible touch or pass that would be miles off target. He took a couple of free kicks from just outside the box, one dipped over the wall and smacked the underside of the crossbar, the other sent Redmayne diving to the right before swinging the opposite direction and just missing the post. Also at one stage beat 3 defenders with some silky skills.

Good to see the fixture done sensibly so that you guys play all NSW teams & Melbourne Victory twice at home. Would have been even better if you had two home games against Brisbane, but at the end of the day the 4 teams above would be the biggest crowd pullers for you guys.

So Iacopo La Rocca is the Italian trialist. Not a bad player, plying his trade in the swiss league for the past few years.

aufc_ole wrote:Couldnt they have scheduled a better time? Sunday 7pm kickoff wasnt the greatest time They didn't want many people. It was a trial run for the club at the stadium. They used the proper ticketek ticketing system even. Edit - I've also heard word that the club may have negotiated with Newcastle to allow Wanderers members to go to next Saturday's match in Newcastle. Edited by macktheknife: 9/9/2012 11:57:11 PM

I know Wanderers are going to rename the stands for the HAL season (and seasons to come), and removal of NRL logos (if possible) is fair enough... but is it true that we're going to cover up or mask Steve Price's statue? Seems quite disrespectful to me. http://www.smh.com.au/sport/football/wanderers-settle-in-at-their-new-home-20120910-25msr.html

That was some overblown BS by the anti-football brigade to sell papers. Steve Price will not be covered by anything.

No idea, but for $100 will definitely be getting myself a kit. Was going to get a scarf, but will hold off on that till I see what these foundation member scarves they're talking about are like.

Why are WSW pre-season figures being so heavily scrutinised? Rarely hear a peep about them when it concerns other clubs. Let's wait and see what they get against CCM.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

No one complained when we got 3.5k average in the last 4 games. We have a higher attendance average than Gold Coast ffs, and its only preseason, and people still complain.
