With membership now 6.5k, average crowds over 12k and huge potential for further growth, the biggest sponsorship in the League and Primo reported to be upgrading to a major partner next season if the Wanderers can't survive long term then the A-League probably can't survive.

AFR reporting that WSW is valued at $20 million.

This is compared with CCM who are being offered to the Chinese for $10-$15 million.

Assuming that figure is realised in a sale after 2 years as the AFR suggests and the FFA's nett expenditure on WSW is the $3m pa they have spent when they have had to run clubs previously that would put $14m in the coffers to fund future expansion. Thats another 2 clubs for 2 years provided a future broadcast rights deal grew to cover the salary caps of the new clubs. I hope any windfall such as this might bring is not squandered on operating the current 10 club league.

There is no doubt that WSW will establish themselves as a top four club in the short term, if not already, based on the above information, regardless of there position on the table.
They have captured the market in Western Sydney, and can only grow on this years success.

I just realised that the attendance at our last home game took us past the total attendance the Parramatta Eels drew to Parramatta Stadium last season. With 3 games to go we should go well past their average season's attendance over the last 10 seasons of 142,271 but we won't get to their best of 178,027. Maybe next season. Its good that the venue now has double the patronage and that might put the upgrade within reach financially.

Eels would have had another sellout if not for moving their final match to ANZ.

SMH has an article about the Eels lobbying for a 40,000 facility in Western Sydney (i.e. upgrade Parra Stadium). Would be amazing if it gets through.

Does anyone know how WSW members extra tickets sales are going for the Sydney derby? It runs out at 5pm today. Would be great if 75% of the seats were gone before it got opened up to Sydney FC members tomorrow.

I doubt whether the 40k capacity stadium would be at Parramatta Stadium. In the late 70's - early 80's the Parramatta Eels put in a Development Application for a 40k stadium which was approved by Parramatta Council. This approval was contested and Justice McLelland in the Land and Environment Court overturned the approval. The primary issue was the taking over land from Parramatta Park for the stadium with transport and parking being other issues. The Government got around this by amending the Cumberland Oval Act to limit the capacity of the stadium to 30k. It is my understanding that this limit still applies and if there was any move to increase it there would be the same sort of outcry for "friends" of Parramatta Park. I'm sure this is why the current 5 stage master plan only takes capacity to 30k.

The password for pre-sales was leaked. WSW member [re-sales were suspended on Turesday arvo and only came back, with a new password at 12pm yesterday. No doubt that password was leaked within 5 mins of tickets going on sale as well.

That's why for the derby you will see blue more spread out throughout the stadium and not just in the away bays.

Bummer... the sooner we get to the point were the away team fills only its 8% allocation in a sellout crowd the sooner we will see what a real derby atmosphere is like.

Yeah its probably Shinji signing on for another year. Gallop and others will be there though so strange that they would attend for that, in saying that they are in town.

Hmm if its an FFA announcement it could just be some academy youth grassroots program. However seems like a bit of noise for that. Could be ownership after all...Primo is coming on as a major partner next year. Maybe Paul has finally come to the party and agreed to buy the club like Frank was trying to make him
