I'm a Perth fan who lives in North Rocks. I go to Wanderers games and I've even travelled with the RBB. One of my greatest passions is the growth of football in Sydney's west, but I will never condone what I saw tonight.

Absolutely disgusting. Animals in a zoo behave better.

My agenda? What are you talking about  I'm a regular at Wanderers games and I love the football in Western Sydney.

I love the Wanderers, but I do not love the RBB. And yes, the club and it's active support are Separate. The RBB bring so much to our game, but there are some in that group who deface our game with selfish actions.

Tonight was a great night for the Wanderers, but a bad night for the RBB.

All good mate, I travelled to the Newcastle game towards the end of last season. I agree that's it's great that no-one was hurt, but i was disappointed with how some of (certainly not all of) the RBB behaved.

A group who has done SO MUCH for football did a dis-service to football tonight.

Club has already acknowledged & apologised for safety issues. If there wasn't a massive problem they would have acted like its business as usual and blamed RBB.

There was a massive problem and it was only solved by RBB being non-active for the first part of the match and trying to move to a safer part of the ground.

thanks that was a very good trip, i was not at the match so i cant judge but all i know is something needed to happen and if they went the right way about making that happen is not for me to judge because i was not there, either way its over now so not much can be done about it but good to see the club claim some responsibility

THere is something you lack, and it's the point of view of a passionate fan who is apart of the RBB and recognised there was something totally wrong about the situation, and action had to be taken.

Now here's the thing, as soon as we entered the ground, we looked at the 'seating/standing' arrangement that had been made for the RBB. Some 1000-1200, expected, fans, were assigned an area which was clearly dangerous.
Not only was there a clear visibility of danger, there wasn't even enough seating space for 100's of fans.
I got there 25 minutes before KO, and I was very upset, I couldn't fathom how this was going to work.

I don't know what management and organisation staff were thinking pre-match, and what they envisioned for the RBB, but the set-up was a farce.
As the match kick's off, many RBB ticket-holders are unable to find a suitable spot in the stand designated for active support, the atmosphere is dim. Fans are noticeably agitated. The 2 step seats seem unable to handle the weight and pressure from my row that were trying to get something going, in the form of jumping and chanting.
Then, as expected, Capo's converse amongst each other (one of whom was not even able to join because of the lack of space), and we all jump off.

Again, a group of annoyed, confused and passionate supporters, who feel like they've been disrespected. This is clear, the lack of foresight in the organisation (of which I would have found so many better set-ups and solutions very quickly) caused this whole situation.
We approach the gate and ask for it to be opened due to safety and unmanageable circumstances. Security, who are supposed to look after the safety and best interests of patrons. Security who decided to arrogantly say no, straight away, without thought.

The response, in my honest opinion, was to my initial skepticism, a bit over the top.
But a minute or two later, I felt it was the best thing that could have happened.
Because this sparked security into doing their job.
They decided to talk to management, and then the Capo's stepped in, and came up with a solution which was sped up and forced due to the animosity created.
This should not have happened, it was a blight on football, the management and organisation, not the RBB or the response.

So there you have it, Eastern, thanks for being there, and stick it for your ignorant and no doubt expected reaction.

eastern glory, seriously just shut up mate. you got no idea wtf you are on about.
there were families and children were the rbb initially was. look how many people are saying it was a disaster waiting to happen. go on wsf.com and have a look also.
if the rbb did not do what they did there is no way that we would have movied.
I have said this before, but I will repeat it again. PEOPLE DID TALK TO THE SECURITY AND POLICE telling them what was going on. in one case they started laughing.
what would you suggest, in all your wisdom, that the rbb should have done. do nothing? so people get injured.

And if hadn't happened we could be sitting here talking about people who were seriously injured or worse. I know which scenario I'd prefer.

Edited by sydneycroatia58: 22/8/2013 12:01:30 AM

You know I love you man, but the boys were disgusting tonight. The RBB could manage what they were dealt, but instead the decide that charging a face and taunting police with the paranoia song (I don't care what anyone says, if you chant that at police, you're a grot).

Was absolutely disgusting to watch. Would prefer they all left if they were so unsafe.

how could they? there were 1000s in a spot that would be lucky to hold 1000.

listen, it was either the rbb did what they did (no one got hurt) or stay there and watch someone get hurt. like I have already said numerous times, people in the rbb did try to talk to security and police but they did nothing at all.

exactly. if the rbb was in the wrong the club would have no issues blaming the rbb. it just shows you how fucked up the situation was.
anyway eastern, stick to your ways as im yet to see one other person who was there say what the rbb did was embarrassing and act like the rbb is the devil.

Word it how you want, they behaved like animals.

I'm glad the club has admitted they got it wrong, lets hope that in future the club and it's fans work work together more productively so that a certain group of fans don't set about defacing our game.

Eastern Glory loves it when he thinks the RBB has done something wrong. He quickly points his finger in fake anger but at the end of the day it's just to mask his jealousy. No worries about East Sydney fans running amok. They wouldn't want to spill their latte's. !! :)

This. Although I would hazard a guess that Juric will be wearing #9 this season.

Wanderers lead Shimizu 2-1 at half time. Goals to Juric (25m) and Appiah (44m).

Below is a translation of the tweet for the second goal.
