Even if that wasn't the case, Arsenal had plenty of time to sign him as per his demand before City (he signed after the season started if you remember). Seriously, nothing good comes of letting players run down their contract, we need to start dishing out ultimatums: sign or go. He had his head turned by City months and months before he left. It conveniently coincided with his sudden loss of form. He was never going to re-sign with is.

You've got to stop letting players contracts run down to the last 12-14 months before you try and offer them an extension. The board need to give themselves time to cash in on dissonant players.

City wanted him since January when his demand was made. Afroman is correct and we're suffering from our current policy with contracts.

Sky Sports are reporting that Liverpool are preparing to negotiate a deal with Inter for both Sneijder and Coutinho. Both could be handy for the reds (depending on price of course).
Sky Sports are also reporting that Carlos Tevez has told Man City that he has no intention of signing a new contract as he plans to return to Boca on a free transfer in 2014.

From sky sports: "Reports in Italy suggesting that Wesley Sneijder would have been prepared to discuss a salary reduction to stay at Inter Milan, but has now seen the club accept an offer from Galatasaray and attempt to move him off their books. The Dutchman appears destined to be on the move during the winter window, with Liverpool also said to be keen on acquiring his services."
That offer was rumoured to be in the area of 6-7m.

Gala have announced the signing of Sneijder for 7.5m apparently. Gala's twitter wrote:An agreement with Inter Milan and Wesley Sneijder for the transfer has been agreed. The conditions of the deal will be made public and the player will sign the contract after health checks. Sneijder wrote:I am very happy with my agreement with Galatasaray

Amazing how far he's dropped. Think Gala will very pleased with that bit of business though, depending on his wages.

Gala will be very pleased with themselves. Time will tell if it's a good piece of business.
Amazing that he went from competing for WPOTY for some of Europe's biggest clubs to playing in Turkey.

Really is an amazing fall from grace in such a short space of time. Be interesting to see how he goes in Turkey. Gala will be pleased with that fee, but won't be pleased with his wages unless he tears it up.

How much are they paying him a week? I'd be up around 100k, yeah?

Man City are apparently demanding 34m for Mario Balotelli from AC Milan  Get real.
Rumours abound that Yann M'vila's move to QPR is a done deal as well.

It would be one of the strangest top line player moves re Sneijder to Gala. I didn't think he lost that much form the last 12mths to only gain this Gala move ? puzzling tbh.

He's been absolutely rubbish the last 12 months, pretty much after Mourinho left he started to decline. Since Ranieri became manager he played him too deep and once Stramaccioni became manager he's hardly played him. He doesn't fit the system they use.

Sky Sports is reporting that Jonathan De Guzman is on the verge of making his loan at Swansea permanent.
The Daily Fail seems to think that Florent Malouda is on the radar for QPR...but it is the Daily Fail...
The Guardian reports that AC Milan and Man City have come to an agreement over a fee for Mario Balotelli.

The Coutinho to Liverpool rumours are gathering momentum. Allegedly a 10m deal.

El Mundo is reporting Barcelona are stepping up their pursuit of a replacement for Victor Valdez with David De Gea their first choice.
Betting outlets have also suspended markets for Wilfried Zaha's next club with several big bets being reported for Manchester United.

Depending on their offer, could be worth us cashing in. Sell Reina for 20m, pick up Valdez on free. Good business that'd be.

jas88 wrote:u got rocks in your head if u think reina is worth 20m. Hardly. To Barcelona he's a club-grown player, he's got bags of experience and he's also a quality keeper when he has defenders who pay attention as well. Quote:So you think Valdez won't get picked up in the summer then? Even then, he's going to be a lot cheaper than 20m
