Yep, looking increasingly likely that Hooper will be out the door come the end of January. I dunno. We've knocked back both of Norwich's bids, and I don't think they have the money to meet what we want. His contract doesn't end till 2014, and he's quite happy here. I don't think it'll be this window.

Neil's said 6m would get rejected, and we're not exactly desperate for cash thanks to the ECL. If someone like Jordan Rhodes can go for 8m, Hooper's worth at least that. Add on that he's got ECL experience, he's English, he's young. Edited by Funky Munky: 23/1/2013 03:52:48 PM

Seeing Pardew sign all these foreigners and play them just makes this tantrum from him even more hilarious http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=361160&cc=3436Funny how things have changed, now it's Arsenal with more English players playing regularly than the team Pardew is managing

Honestly...this is the most intriguing story of the window so far for my money. The Guardian wrote:Brooklyn Beckham follows in father's footsteps with trial at Chelsea David Beckham's eldest son Brooklyn has had a trial with Chelsea. The 13-year-old trained at Chelsea's Cobham training ground on Tuesday.
The former England captain Beckham is currently without a club after leaving Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the Major League Soccer season and was pictured on Twitter at the Blues' Surrey training base.
His attendance for the Under-14 fixture at the home of the Champions League winners will undoubtedly lead to speculation Brooklyn is in line to follow in his father's footsteps to play football at the highest level.
Yet David and his wife Victoria would be reluctant to heap pressure on any of their four children. The 37-year-old has enjoyed a successful career with Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy and Milan, while also accumulating 115 England caps.
David also played a prominent role in the delegation sent to Singapore which helped to secure the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games for London. It is still to be determined whether, and where, David will continue his own footballing career. Juventus are reportedly in talks with Lyon to loan Lisandro Lopez as a make-weight until the arrival of Fernando Llorente in the summer (sky sports). Didier Drogba intends to write to FIFA informing them of his intention of leaving Shanghai, following a payment dispute with the club (Sky Italia). Liverpool's attempts to woo Coutinho are dead in the water with the forward saying he intends to fight for his place at San Siro (Gazetta Dello Sport).

This is actually all just the first step in Mike Ashley's master plan to change the club's colours to Red White and Blue.
Blackburn's Mauro Formica has departed for Palermo.
Xavi Hernandez is set to join Puyol in extending his contract at Barcelona.

Luca Becchio has rocked Leeds United by handing in a transfer request.
On the topic of transfer requests, Real Madrid have denied reports that several players have demanded Jose Mourinho's sacking, threatening to hand in transfer requests if he isn't.
Fernando Llorente and Juventus have confirmed that the two parties have come to an agreement on a 4 year deal.
Several newspapers are reporting that Manchester United are closing in on Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay.

Joey Barton must be one annoying cunt.
He's only been there for 6 months and the whole of France is emigrating to Newcastle.

The Early news today has the Daily Star reporting Tottenham ready to meet West Ham's Mohamed Diame's 3.5m release clause.
After missing out on Danny Graham and Gary Hooper, Norwich have reportedly turned their attention to Sporting Lisbon's Ricky Van Wolfswinkel according to Sky.
AC Milan have done a deal for Parma's Christian Zaccardo.
Moussa Sissoko has all but completed his move to Newcastle.

It gets better today: "La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Southampton have offered a deal worth in excess of £8.7million for Inter Milan's Philippe Coutinho, but the playmaker would prefer a move to Liverpool, whose bid is said to be in the region of £7.5m." First Gaston Ramirez, then Forren, and now Coutinho? Liverpool have to do this deal if for nothing else than to save face.

I've read that Soton have offered £10.2m and that he'd rather link up with Pochettino again, as he brought him to Espanyol on loan when he was the manager there etc, but hey, who knows what to believe at this time of the football calendar?

8.7m pound would be 10.2m Euro (or thereabouts). I dunno which club he'd "Rather" be at, but I'd like to see him at Liverpool.

Does the signing meaning Mourinho is getting his wish at pushing Iker out? Or that Adan is going? Mourinho won't be there next season so I doubt he'll be pushing Casillas out, pretty sure he's going to be out injured for a while including during the ECL games against United so Mourinho probably just wanted an experienced back up.
