Any deal with players exchanged is going to grossly overvalue Fabio Coentrao. Coentrao seems to be a bit out of it. He is a quality player, but I really don't want him included in the 85 mil. Mixed feelings about it all tbh. Of course want Bale to stay for his quality, but we'll never get this sort of price again and it's a massive payday, especially if leaves us next year if we don't make CL. As long as we reinvest the cash into key roles, I'd be ok with him going.

afromanGT wrote:United would probably willing to talk loan deals for him. I don't see any value in loaning him out. He is proven, we know what he offers us. Stats wise, he is a better finisher than RVP, he will be staying for sure unless he wanted a move which I can't see.

Steven Caulker has officially moved to Cardiff. 8mil is the rumoured fee.
Pretty disappointed to see him leave, but I think it's more to do with caulker wanting to go, instead of us wanting to sell.

You can't seriously say he wouldn't benefit in any way from some regular first team football.

You can't seriously say he wouldn't benefit in any way from some regular first team football. He did play just under 40 games last season and scored goals. Sure, he would have like to have start more but with the form of RVP, even he would have accepted that. He loves the club and seems happy, always performs well, so I honestly can't see him or the club wanting to get rid of him.

But when he could be getting 30+ starts for Valencia, why the hell not?

I don't see how it'd benefit the club at all though, he doesn't need the experience and we'd be losing a quality player that fulfills a key role for us. As long as he's happy playing his role and winning silverware he'll stay, I think he'll see more game time this season anyway though.

You'd have to assume he's being bought as first-choice in whatever position.

The only reason you'd make a move for Diego Costa is if you'd accepted an offer for Suarez IMO.

A bunch of major clubs have been mentioned...Real Madrid, Bayern and Chelsea are also names that have been thrown around. For some reason Atletico have come up (I assume that's Costa related).

Brendan Rodgers says it will take a massive, 'Gareth Bale' sized bid to persuade Liverpool to sell Luis Suarez.

Did he actually say that? Only quotes I can find about Bale is him saying he doesn't think Bale is worth the amount being bandied about.
