rocknerd wrote:In the Flesh was alright, but generally a bit preachy. never made it to te end of the final ep though. My Foxtel box shit it self and deleted 3 months worth of shows one day for no other reason but it felt like it. No doubt about the preachiness and all that. Was a bit of fun though! you missed the ending - the one thing that all episodes were leading up to. I recommend finishing it if you have the chance.

I found the new episode to be pretty underwhelming tbh, I can see the purpose it served but seeing as it revolves around my two least favourite characters I was pretty disappointed with it.

Was always gonna be slow, its all about
finding where each of the characters have ended up. I enjoyed that Carl is stronger now, thought his reaction to not being able to shoot Rick was fantastic acting. Chandler is certainly getting better.
I disagree, I think it was a great episode. Carl is one of my favourites and I loved his portrayal of an angsty teenager. It's a great way to show his inner turmoil about being treated like the child he is in a world where he is required to be a man and how he needs to be treated like both.

I can't fault it stylistically and understand the plot direction, I'm not faulting the quality of the episode but I'm whinging because Carl and Michonne are the two characters I overwhelmingly dislike the most so an episode of character development (Carl) and backstory (Michonne) is of little interest to me personally.
Judith"baby Kickarse" is still alive! so many times this is failing!
overall a well directed 2nd/10th ep. I liked the jumping around and
Glenn's escape and Maggies crazy eyes
I don't think they're going to drag it out too much now though. I think they're going to get to the new township for the eventual showdown with the Survivors.

Another interesting episode, first episode where I felt real suspense from TWD. that scene with Rick in the House was fantastic. though I do question how no one hear the struggle going on. seriously!
Random Science dude????

Granted the plot lines are a lot slower thus far and they have to be but I've felt the general quality of the show has been in decline for the last two seasons (part one and two) and I'm no longer looking forward to watching TWD, I'm watching it purely because I've come this far. I'm not familiar with the graphic novels but I feel like I should read them to get an actual sense of the character development that the show is trying to delve into this season, because the TV adaptation has been pretty fucking underwhelming thus far imo.

Yeah, graphic novels don't delve this much into the characters. most are given a few cells to cover where they come from, but the point of them is where they're going, not who they were. This season seems stuck on the idea that how they came here is important in an apocalypse. I'm guessing they're filling out the season with the DC arrival as the season finally and building next season on the safe zone and the communities within.

No surprise to see Tyreese forgive Carol, they had already agreed that he couldnt survive with the baby on his own. Great ep though, hopefully the last ep focused on one group.
Only 2 eps to go though :x

I'm very glad to see the show finally tap back into some serious hard hitting drama and themes rather than monotonous back story, this was brutal.
I can't believe they left Lizzie alone, obviously they could never have predicted what would happen but the warning signs were there that at the very least she was a danger to herself when left alone. I couldn't stop thinking of Lennie and George from 'Of Mice and Men' when Carroll told Lizzie to look at the flowers, Lizzie had to die for what she did but at the same time it was an act of mercy too in a way.

That was brutal. That would have to be up there with 'The Rains of Castamere' if not quite so graphic.
If they touch Glenn I S2G
Also noticed that Terminus was way too easy to get into. Very interested to see where this goes. I think I have the ins and outs of how it will tie to the comics.
John and his merry band will become the main protagonists and link up to become the devastating outcome of issue 100 and terminus and DC will be dead ends, I think Shaker has the rights to it
Both happy and disappointed.
Happy to see the bandits part happen including the attempted rape and rick biting the main guys throat. Almost word for word from the comic. Little disappointed with the ending, next seasons opening few episodes better be good.
Does it bother anyone else that they're allowed to broadcast that graphic throat rip scene but they won't let Rick curse at the end? It seems a minor gripe but the censorship made that scene cheesy as fuck imo.
