i don't see how the mariners need another keeper on a permanent basis. vukovic suspension nearly served.

last season it was vukovic with matthew trott as backup then when trott was not re-signed they got matthew nash as backup.

why would someone like van stratten or filan come to the a-league to get splinters on their arse.

it is possible that filan may come on a permanent deal but van strattan isnt going to come because he has stated he loves learning off buffon and although Pim has said players need first team football, Van Strattan isnt going to come back and play half a year than have the rest of the year off from matches

if he did come though then Vukovic wouldn't be started before him surely.

I can't see Van Strattan moving permanently. CCM have a perfectly good keeper in Vukovic and well, I'd probably rate Van Strattan on par with him.
Filan could come in, plus I could see him playing out the year as Danny's back-up once he comes back to the fold.

I'd be putting my money on Filan coming in on a sort of "guest stint" until Danny comes back.

I can see maybe a season long loan happening but not passed that he is still young (for keepers standards)

Although Jess has got the gig at Juve, he's still no closer to Socceroo selection - and Verbeek's made it clear to everyone that he wants players getting first-team action. Therefore, the lure of first-team football and a chance to be part of the national set-up may see this move happening.

He wants to play for the socceroos, he has said that. Probably want to play week in week out to be in with a chance.

Plus remember he was very close to signing for Newcastle last year, and it was said he wanted to return for personal reasons. Maybe thats still the case?

I doubt the move would be permanent with van stratten... why leave juve, especially when he can learn so much from buffon....
They are both relatively big name keepers... maybe a loan deal... if they sign them on a permanent deal who will be 1st choice when vukovic comes back

he's from Gosford... might be ready for more game time as a fill in. Maybe a six-month loan from Juve?

I'm with the belief factor guy there is something afoot,but I just don't see Van Stratten leaving such a nice gig.
