I don't really know what you mean by modern era. Or if my opinion really should count considering i only watch certain leagues and certain matches so probably dont get to see many of the great players apart from WC etc.

So I am not really an informed opinion if I am basing my entire judgement on Australian football and English football plus the occasional glimpses of teams of La Liga and other teams in the Champions League if they are playing against Liverpool or Barca. Also from watching the WC and Euro competitions once every couple of years only.

Hence I am against voting in it because I don't believe I even really have a solid opinion on who is good or not from the modern era considering i havent seen any serie a, french football, dutch football and all other european leagues in the last 10 or so years.

So my opinion on a top 20 is more based on what other people have told me than what i have seen myself. I can't remember ever actually watching ribery play, or francesco totti (except when he scored that pen and sucked his thumb like a freaking douche in the WC against the Roos), or Ibra even before he started playing for Barca. I havent really seen Kaka play much or Luis Fabiano or any of the modern greats who seem to be constantly performing well.

Fair enough. Part of your reasoning for not voting, is partly why I started this though. There are a couple of people who have only voted for still playing players, because that's all they know. It's not meant to be an absolutely perfect list. It's meant to be influenced by the people on this forum, with whatever limitations they have. So if you can only really nominate players from the English/Australian games, then so be it. That is YOUR top 20, which is what I want, not a perfect Top 20. There's no such thing.

If i either only drink beer or spritis i can wake up the next morning fine.

I saw a doco or something like that about alcohol and they said that clinically there is NO difference in hangover apparently in drinking one drink all night long or mixing and matching heaps of different drinks...

As for the immigration debate. Sure, everyone should be given equal opportunity to immigrate to australia. The trouble is, of the 600,000 immigrants to australia a very large portion have been illegal. Which is half the problem. They need to be properly vetted, THEN let into the country.
