Oh my gosh ... this will be unbelievable! Although, I'd like to see Timmy to go to the NewSydneyClub I'm happy to be selfish and grab him .. because we can! Footballsthinking website wrote:CAHILL on the Way?28 May Having been the centre of Aussie attention for the past few days, Everton striker Cahill could be on his way back down under. The Socceroo is now 32 years of age and wants to see if it is the right time to go back to Australia with a six month loan spell. The former Millwall man has made over 200 appearances for the Toffees, scoring 56 goals in the his time there. Victory have found some investors who want to bring a big name. The deal is on going with officials of all parties discussing details, but the deal will hinge on whether the FFA are willing to loosen the wage cap rules in order to bring Cahill back home. This is because he is looking for up to £3 million in wages, bonuses and other commercial deals if he arrives in Melbourne. He is great friends with ex-Liverpool player and fellow international Harry Kewell, and has apparently been asking what the A League is like to play in at the moment through Kewell.

That is the worst rumour I have ever seen.
3 million pounds in wages for 6 months.
That's nearly twice the total annual salary cap for one player... for 6 months. It's also more than he's earning at Everton.
And "great friends" with Harry Kewell

If there was any truth to this rumor would be interesting to know who these investors are that would be paying such an inflated figure. Doesn't sound like something Timmy would do or ask for in regards to the ammount. Not to mention too that the deal would depend on ffa loosening its cap rules. Can't see that ever happening. They would have to rejig their marquees and fit him in as a marquee

 What a load of shit.
.....I don't know about H and Timmy being that close but I think Cahill and Archie actually are pretty tight, still doesn't excuse the fact that this is the worst HAL rumour I've seen.

Would be unreal, would love to see him but not at melbourne but at ws. Having said that, this rumour is so full of shit. if he would come back to the league it would be for a few yrs and would be at west syd to be close to family, which means alot to timmy.

The only logical reason for Timmy to make this move would be a profile lift here, but he doesnt really need it. Another reason would be to recapture some form that he lost last season, but why would playing in the A-league benefit him? Surely playing and training with a quality outfit like Everton would help him more. Unless of course he thinks hes not going to get game time. Surely this is just a media beat up to raise some good publicity for the game here.
