Yes you have hope
If you get a good draw you could make round 3
But you would have to be very lucky to make it thru round 3
If i dont make round 4 i will be upset, but if i get a tough round 3 game i might not make it

ive noticed a lot of u guys say how players are going to 'pop' soon to solid etc etc, so how do i know that? the last week ive trained defending so how do i know if its working at all?

Go there to see where their sublevel is at, and see how close they are to popping
there are other tools as well but i use this one

Maximum skill level must be at least one level above next level, - whereas it will work for a few other players, so does that just mean the players' current skill level isnt high enough for it to count as of now?

He needs to have one primary skill above the others like solid scoring

At the moment we don't really have enough people to start the Cup before everyone finishes the Oceania Cup anyway. Looks like theres quite a few round 4 ambitions anyway. I'll be very happy with a round 3.

Pimpsta- The most accurate and easy to use tool ive found for predicting when players will pop is a firefox plugin called PsicoTsi, been using it for a fw months now and its awesome, can make you some big money if you use it right, but it can be a little bit inaccurate for players with very high secondary skills.

It shows each players level on their hattrick page aswell so you wont have to be constantly opening up another tab/browser.

and this is how the ratings work, every new number represents a skill level ( 7-solid, 8-excellent, 9-formidable, 10-outstanding, 11- brilliant etc etc)

So for example a player that has just popped to Solid PM would have these PsicoTsi stats:

high form-7.01
avg form-7.02
weak form-7.03

and a player that is about to pop to Excellent PM would have these Psico Tsi stats:

high form-7.89
avg form-7.94
weak form-7.96
