Seems so counter-productive to change a name like that when there is plenty of history and success associated with the Tigers. Something to do with Tigers being hated in the juniors. Also something about the name having a greater appeal for sponsors.

It should be renamed the wbl, the "whocares basketball league" so little attention the league gets
The sport still needs to exist though, gamblers need another sport to gamble on to have a bit of variety  [-x  I knew...but its like no one cares as you said. Just another sleepy season of basketball.

Edited by ricecrackers: 8/9/2014 04:04:50 PM Who would they have played had they not tanked? NZ or Dominican Republic depending on what Lithuania decided in their final group game as it stands NZ

Boomers going to have a scary team come Rio.
I dare say they are gonna push Spain to be the no.2 team in the World.
Edited by SocaWho: 4/9/2014 11:23:41 PM Better hope Dante improves a hell of a lot in 2 years for that to happen. He hasn't exactly impressed has he. Im thinking he will be a long term project. He's going to have to be more of an assists guy than an isolation player. He can play isolation against dudes that are athletically inferior than him (like he has been in Australia) but in the NBA he will be up against a brick wall night in night out. And also he will have a scouting report on him so teams will really do their homework on him and nail him on his weaknesses. Edited by SocaWho: 6/9/2014 12:08:11 PM

It was an obvious tanking by the the aussies. Coach Lemanis should get the boot, I've been following basketball for 25 years and it was the biggest disgrace I have seen in Australian basketball. I don't care if it was about avoiding second place, we should be playing to win all the time.
Im probably overreacting but im pretty passionate about the Boomers.

Something like the old cricket world cup "super 8" stage would solve it for sure. They already play a stupid number of games back to back so I'm sure they could work out a way. Fully expecting Lithuania to tank their last game. perhaps a degree of randomness for the first crossovers so group D doesnt know if they're going to crossover to group C or group B before the group stage is over more like cup football i guess Yep not a fan of how the knockout stage is structured. It's pretty much like this to ensure the top 2 teams can't meet before the final. Not sure why that's such a big deal.
