My bad. 2 from 9 it was. I miscounted. As for LeBron, I still think he didn't turn up and the fact that he scored from five from ten FT gives some idea of that. Okay he's not the greatest from the line, but he was well off overall.

But it would be be a pretty mean feat for him, and to a lesser extent Delly and Mozgov, to carry Cleveland.

Yep was an off night for Lebron, and that's Cleveland's biggest problem. To win, they need him to go for 40 pts, or they risk losing by 20 odd. Yesterday was also a good look at the difference in the margin of error for both teams. The Warriors have been off most of this series but have been able to stay in games, the Cavs have an off night and lose by 20. Mozgov having a career night saved them from being truly embarrassed.

All about how they react now, we've seen how the Warriors reacted to going 2-1 down, now the Cavs turn.

I thought he delivered in game 4. He hit three 3s under pressure. And he sunk just about every free throw. Mozgov was good, quite a bit better than the previous game.

I don't think Delly had the opportunity to be as good as he was in the previous two games because Golden State really improved their offense by bringing in Iggy.

LeBron just didn't show up for game 4. How did he miss so many free throws? I was staggered that one of the best in history could miss so many. He just had an off day.

Unfortunately, Golden State just have a lot more depth on the bench. They can produce more attacking weapons. LeBron and Delly are carrying Cleveland, with Mozgov chiming in. All three of them need to be firing on all cylinders for Cleveland to have a hope. It's a shame because I really want to see Cleveland win.

When did Delly hit 3 three's? Certainly didn't yesterday when he went 2-9

Last night showed that, as great as he is, Lebron can't win a series all on his own, especially against the best team in the league. They can't afford to have Delly, Smith and Shumpert go a combined 7 of 35 from the field and 3 of 22 from 3.

As for Lebron's free throws, not really a surprise, he's never been an outstanding FT shooter, only 74% over his career.

I think people forget that the Warriors are currently playing with 4 Allstars at the moment in Thompson, David Lee, Iguodala and Curry on top of that Bogut / Green both defensive Allstar nominees.

I think the Cavs made a big mistake bringing in Marion, Miller, Perkins ( Dads brigade) as it has really stretched their roster and made fatigue a deciding factor in these series.

The thing is killing Delly now is having to take on Livingston, Barbossa and Curry all taking turns on him when they are fresh, wearing him out big tme.

I think the Warriors will wear down the Cavs in the next two games, as much as I want the Cavs to win.

Lebron will be Lebron as usual but they will send a double team on him and force Shumpert, Delly or JR Smith to shoot...all 3 have been pretty dismal from the permeter and being given open looks.

Those bashing Delly are out of their minds. He had a fucking good game for someone in hospital two nights earlier. Shumpert, Smith and LeBron were all horrible.

Cavs will win in 6 if they win in Oakland, which I think they will. There's no way JR, Iman and James will be that poor again, and Mozgov along with Delly will continue their great finals form.

a lot of columnists are bashing Delly ...it sucks . but the truth is hes at his best when he has a full tank and sadly hes run out of gas. cavs must play small otherwiise they will rack up a ton of fouls on the fast break

He showed enough signs, to me, that he would be fit enough to perform with 3 full days rest before his next match. Hopefully he can handle the media pressure and cement himself as a key part in a Finals win for the Cavs. Fully behind him and predict he will have a match as good as his Game 3 performance.

I think Delly will struggle if GSW decide to go small again.

GSW want to play the fast break game and want to draw as many fouls as possible.

I think they should go with Tristan Thompson / Lebron / JR Smith / Shumpert / Delly . starting 5.

Althtough if they get in foul trouble they will be fucked.

GSW will happily let Mozgov score instead of Lebron.

Exactly.

Delly is the proverbial underdog that Aussies love, but he is guarding the league MVP so its not unusual for him to get scorched and have a bad performance.

Its the reason why you have scouting reports....its what separates the elite players from the average players like Delly.

The elite players like Lebron, D-Wade can still go out and put on a 40 point game even with the scouting report on them....
whereas you have guys like Delly who have been flying under the radar will more than likely struggle once other teams figure out what his weaknesses are. The top players don't have weaknesses or if they do they are very minor. But average players can be severely exposed once teams work out their weak points. Look at for example Jeremy Lin...no-one knew he was yet he flew under the radar and exploded in the same way as Delly....but now Lin is nowhere near as effective as he once was since teams know how to deal with him. It wouldn't surprise me that Delly will have tougher seasons beyond this one since teams now know who he is and what his style of play is.

I think what people need to know is that Delly is a good basketball player. Hes not great and he sure as shit isn't bad. His assets are his decision making as a point guard and his unquestionable effort. He's had a tough job filling in for Kyrie irving and performed beyond every ones expectations.

The superstar status given to him by the media was unnecessary and I think it bewildered not only him but also the rest of his team mates. Because the things they were praising him for are traits that hes possessed his whole career. Coaches love to play him because he brings the same effort every night, those kinds of qualities are the things coaches desire the most. You only have to look at the New York Knicks to realize that, you can have all the talent you want but without heart, desire and commitment its worth nothing.

You're having a laugh if you think teams didnt know who Jeremy Lin was immediately out of Harvard and have done no scouting on Delly prior to the NBA Finals.

You're also listing D-Wade as an elite player along with LBJ. You must be his agent. Only people in the world who think he is still a $20m/season player are the two of you, but I'll be interested to see if you can con the Heat into paying him that much.

Delly is a below average combo guard in the NBA. His hustle on the court has perplexed the US media who love the fact his style of play is so polarising. Couple that with the American obsession of Cindarella stories, and you have the unfortunate situation we find ourselves in with insane amount of coverage on the kid.

Most interesting thing to Aussie bball fans should be Boguts absolute anonymity at this point in the playoffs. Mozgov has put him to sleep.

and i guess Messi and Ronaldo arent AAA players either but because Timmy Cahill is Aussie hes an exception to the rule lol.

how is LBJ not an elite player? hes put up two triple doubles in a row in this series and in a final and hes basically carried his team this far..as well as playing in his 6th finals appearance...so how is he not an elite player...you baffle me.

Biggest mistake Blatt has made all series, that and letting his prior relationship issues with LeBron leading him to not instill any sort of discipline upon him.

those trades for perkins, miller and james jones has really come back to hurt the cavs.

So Steph Curry has already obliterated Reggie Miller's record of 58 3's in a post-season, he has 95 so far, and now he's just five 3's away from breaking Danny Green's record of 26 3's in a Finals set in 2013.

Klay Thompson also just four 3's away from passing Miller's previous post-season record.

Oh I know I was agreeing, was less about Delly being 'bad', which he wasn't really on the defensive end, and more about Curry just going nuts. Where Delly struggled a bit again was on the offensive end, those shots he was getting to fall in Game 2 and 3 weren't falling again like Game 4.

his offense was pretty woeful. i think you will next year they will need another backup point guard who can create his shot. Delly will only be utilsed for lock down assignments. hes only useful for taking 4 to 5 shots a game. his not good enough to warrant jacking up more than 5 shots a game

Still don't understand what made Blatt think going small was a good idea. Trying to play the Warriors at their own game is the worst thing you can do, especially this stage in the finals.

The only reason why Cavs are down is because Delly/ Shump / JR havent been making their perimeter shots.

Those sort of shots are ones that Kyrie and Love would make 9 times out of 10....thats why they are on the big money.

Playing small ball against the Warriors is suicidal for the Cavs...especially when the Cavs have a depleted roster.
The Cavs stopped the Warriors by going big and slowing the game down, enabling their guys to conserve their energy and get rest. Playing small against the Warriors means more fast break plays which is devastating for the Cavs.
