Actually Erebus, it should be B.C.E so the dating system isn't based around Christianity as much.

We had our big Ash Wednesday mass at school today and the leaders of our respective houses made the sign of the cross on our forheads with ash but one of my best mates is a leader and decided to put a dick on my head

i went to a catholic school in zimbabwe for a couple of years. i remember we had to attend chapel every tuesday. it was just a basic mass for about an hour. i used to sit at the back with the other muslim and hindu boys. about 6 of us. we used to sit right at the back and just talk amongst ourselves or read our own book. never used to interfere or cause any problems. the teacher who sat behind us kept bugging us to take part in mass, but we told her we from a different religion and dont do it.
however, this one muslim dude used to sit in the front and sing and stuff. he never took part in communion part he did the other things. teacher used to say "why does he do it then". got into soo much shit for that, eventually we had to speak to the guy and tell him not to do anything.

We wern't allowed to wash it off either, and if the principal thought you had he's give you detention. Sucked last year, it was like 30 degrees and all the sweat washed it away.

SOR was the fucking best because i got stuck in the advanced class (i think it was cause i challenged everything and it gave the rest of the class a different perspective because they were a bunch of bible bangers) i remember this one guy said your gunna go to hell... and i was like, yeah if you believe in the fire and brimstone and that god communicates by setting fire to bushes, i don't like to get pinned down to just the one god.... i like Steven Gerrard and Kenny Dalglish too ya know \:d/ Edited by The Doctor: 17/2/2010 11:45:09 PM

I took SOR too. It was actually kinda interesting, but our teacher was a few cents short of a doller, so it kinda made the class suck

well it came at it from a neutral sort of perspective... i went to school in auburn which is a pretty multicultural place, so you had hindu's and muslim's who came to the school aswell even though it was a catholic one... they couldnt try and force feed jesus down your throat in the final years... was really interesting if you do get the right teacher... did christianity and islam was quite good, but shit the spelling and pronouncement of half the stuff from islam was bloody hard

 can't help but laugh. I went to school in North Sydney. Just rich white kids, and Asians whose parents don't feed them unless they get 99.98 in their HSC. But most of my year was like me - either atheist or agnostic - and we just never paid attention in any religion class. It was a time to catch up on Maths/English/Biology homework, 45 minutes sleep, or discuss the hot chick from Wenona/Monte we saw during our lunch break

SOR was mandatory though the second unit was optional. Its always interesting to know when pretending to care about someones live, but otherwise it was a big meh

Personally I would consider it a common courtesy that if you're discussing a TV Show/Movie/Game etc, that you hide important parts, just in case. Fair enough if you didn't think of it, just keep it in mind for next time :)
