even though heart will struggle this year. i like their transfer policy. possibly getting money for 4 players this offseason should see them in the black.

and signing guys like this who are in young roos is posititve for replacements. most young roos won't make it but at least they have the avenue now within australia to step up.

Must say though, this is kind of funny:

Quote:
“I’ve never been overseas for a trial, I have always wanted to see what I can do in Australia first,” the defender said.

“(Western Sydney) would be the perfect club for me, it’s close to home and close to family.”

From Footballnsw.com.au news article a while back. http://www.southwestadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/general/cecil-hills-boy-vrankovic-heads-for-success/2275319.aspx is also a good article.

He's a very talented kid, strong physique for his age, and also knows how to score goals with his head. Great signing for MH.

Babalj, Good and Behich... Who's the fourth (my memory isn't great today)?

Babalj and Good will raise approx $800k for Heart once the FFA have had their slice.

Behich is going to a club which is in financial difficulties, so I doubt they will be paying too much.

It's likely Heart will bring in between $1-1.5m in transfer fees - and rumours were that they lost between $2-3m last season, so it's unlikely to put them in the black... But it won't hurt, that's for sure.

Important to note that it's not just young Aussies they are working to on-sell now - Tadic has been signed with the specific goal of selling him on, Flores style, to a major Asian league if he gets his mojo back; wouldn't be stunned to see Gerhardt go the same way if he does the business. All positive for Heart - shows genuine forward planning on the business side, and so long as the football department is confident that they can find suitable replacement players they shouldn't suffer on the pitch either (the great glory of no relegation being, of course, that even if they get it totally wrong they have the chance to put it right next year).

All fair points, except they also need to ensure they don't disgrace themselves on the park. MH have worked hard to attract a decent following, and an awful season borne out of a desire to balance the books will not be a great way to repay the loyal fans. I get the business argument, but I just hope for their sake that this season isn't going to be an embarrassing one for them.

I thought it was that big headed journo, David Davutovic, that they were signing. You know, the guy with the skinny body, but massiv box head!
