Fantastic signing if/when it completes. Aloisi always wanted Grella in the Defensive midfield role. Gerhardt can play CB as he does for his country.

I've got a huge amount of respect for Vinnie, but have to chuckle at MHT fans.

12 months ago, MHT & other HAL fans, were deriding MVFC for signing Australia's Greatest Ever Player ... b/c he was allegedly "injury prone" & "too old".

Vinnie is 12 months younger than Harry & Grella has averaged 10 games a season, for the past 5 years.

But, as I said ... got HUGE admiration for Vinnie &, unlike jealous fans who oppose everything to do with MVFC, I'd be rapt to see Vinnie playing HAL - at MHT or any HAL club.

the squad will definitely look more solid with a DM like Grella and will allow Gerhardt to slot back into centre back to cover the losses of Good and Hamill. Hopefully we top it off with the signing of Vrankovic.

Grella would also make signing Bresciano a lot easier for the following season ;)

Grella would be a top TOP signing, better than anything announced so far. 38 games in four years is pitiful tho, hope he can stay injury free because he will be a huge asset to the A league.

2 year deal on minimal wage, definitely a squad player replacing Maycon. So an upgrade.

I agree. If he can be injury free he would be top class. The signing in itself will add some sort of buzz for the Melbourne Heart but the thing with Vinny is he is a leader and will bring that mentality to the squad.

I really like what Aloisi is doing, he is bringing in some winning and tough mentality players and he has said a few times now he wants to win the league. I think once the squad is complete it will be a better squad than what we had last year. We will be in there with a chance to win it. Tadic, Gerhardt, Redmayne and Grella are fantastic signings in my opinion. Gol Gol, Gray and Macallister add that depth you need. Still more to come also.
