Good luck to them. Hope it is a success, a league of improved quality with good connections with the a-league. Interested to see comments from Decentric and some of the other Tasmanians who seemed to have their heads screwed on better than most of us up here.

Hopefully this league does well. Would be great to see this league grow in support and playing standard. Could eventually lead to a HAL side being in Tassie, which is something I'd like to see happen.

The current split state league clubs who missed out are very vexed about the Victory League. Many second tier clubs. like the one I'm TD of, have many stakeholders who are unhappy. A number of stakeholders from within these clubs contend there is no promotion/relegation opportunity. They maintain it precludes their clubs from eligibility to the state league if they win the feeder league.

There are many naysayers about the newly conceived state league. However, I'm very excited about the state league proposition, particularly with Melbourne Victory the financial backer for the competition. In theory, it seems a great idea to have a football club sponsoring a feeder competition.

Some of us in this state feel cut off and isolated from the national football milieu. I'll also wager that some other football stakeholders love our insularity and isolation, basically being complacent about having social leagues.

I'm hoping we will have more access to pro players and coaches. I'm also hoping for easier access for playing opportunities for Tassie players.

State FFA have done a great job to engineer the state league, called the Victory League.=d>

Im really excited about this! I hope the Victory provide funding for clubs' travel. I think it was one reason why the State League became defunct after the 1999 season, because the travel costs were too much for some clubs
