Alright I have absolutely no style. I think it's about time I bought some type of casual shoes as I can't keep wearing my Nike joggers everywhere. But I have no idea what to get. So it would be very helpful for some of you guys to post some pics or tell me a certain type.

Going by your posts, you'd have to be in high school or uni. Anyway, it's hard to go wrong with a pair of Chucks or Vans if you just want to fit in. They're pretty ubiquitous.

Personally, I'd rather a darker colour like the example pics, but it's up to you really.

You have no 'style'? That's cool; be yourself. That's something I hate, people trying too hard when dressing for uni. It's not a fucking popularity or camouflage contest. These are pretty much all I have worn the last 10 months. Comfortable, slide on easily, antibacterial insole (designed to be worn without socks). These are a surf brand but I've found to match whatever I'm wearing 95% of the time. Picture doesn't do them justice, they look way better when they're worn in and faded and the soles aren't Yeti-white. http://www.sanuk.com.au/products/mens-sidewalk-surfers

not a huge fan of vans tbh. agreed with martyb - sanuks are amazing. have been rocking a pair of these on-and-off for the last two years: as stated, the picture does them no justice. they're the comfiest shoes/sandals, and i'm not a huge fan of socks so these are perfect. the best thing about these type of ones is if you feel like wearing more slipper-esque shoes, and want to have your heel exposed, the heel cover under the pressure of your foot just folds in on itself and you've got slippers. in terms of kicks though, i struggle to go past a decent pair of adidas sneakers. currently running a fully-black pair of adidas vespas & i'm yet to find myself feeling unstylish in them. would also recommend TOMS shoes ( http://www.toms.com/ ) if you want to go a little different. every pair of shoes you buy, they donate a pair of shoes to a kid somewhere in the world who doesn't own a pair. my entire wedding party is wearing TOMS shoes next month at my wedding. they have some cool selections for everyday shoes also.

I have three pairs of Convers and pair of Ben sherman, this one here.... but grey in colour. I havent bought anything but Converse for a few years now and they just fantastic. It was never to fit in or anything like that, we used to have a brand in Zim which was the same style and thats where we started buying them, only after i came here and after about a year then converse seemed to take off. Personally i dont like Vans, they just dont look very nice or comfy and everyone has them, well everyone who i dont really like (tweeny one directioner belieber etc etc people)

I've got a pair of red vans and a black pair of converses. Agree with Matry though, just be yourself. Find something you like. Looking into buying a pair of Macebth's in the future as well.

Well I'm looking for a pair of shoes that I can wear with shorts and jeans. I've only ever worn runners so I have no idea how any of these shoes feel or if they suit me. Cash isn't a problem. I'm fairly conservative, nothing to out there.
Marty- Your right about the photo not doing them justice but I'm not a fan of them. Krackovich- They look pretty cool, can you wear them with shorts? pv4- Not really my type of thing either. I'm at uni at the moment so I'll look at Toms when I get home. zimbos_05- I'm still considering a pair of converse but probably not that colour. avy1990- A little to chunky for my liking. sydneycroatia58- Wow they are really white. I don't think I could wear anything that white.
Sorry about being a little negative, I'm in a real rush and I'll respond to the others later on.

I dont have that colour, was just highlighting the type of shoe i have. But yeah, Converse hasnt steered me wrong for the good part of 6 years now. Great thing about them now is you get heaps of colours and styles, so there is a lot to choose from.

I'd probably only wear them with jeans, haven't tried them with shorts though. These are the same brand as those but I reckon would look better with shorts

Note on my post. Vans are comfortable, and they look good with both shorts and jeans. But I've had mine for 7 months and they're starting to fall apart a bit. Still wearable, but not great for $80-90 My Converses don't look great with shorts, but I've had them over three years and they look newer than my Vans. Macbeths are look great with shorts and jeans, but hardly anyone in Australia stocks the best ones. The best one's have to be bought online.

Adidas, that is all.
Bought a pair of tigers a couple of years ago, found the heel too thin and made my feet ache if wearing them while standing for a long period.

What about Windsor Smith Canvas shoes? They go well with jeans and you can wear them with shorts, plus they only cost around $40-50. I've got a few pairs of these, they're pretty good to chuck on with a pair of jeans to go to uni or even to wear them out, plus they're comfortable.

Get a pair of Converse. Comfy as, look decent with anything, and last for ages.

Thanks everyone for replying. I'm not feeling like getting vans anymore. I'm leaning more towards something like this. Maybe a different colour or brand but something along these lines. But these are also tempting as well.
