My problem with buying older players is selling them again once you're done. That's far from easy.
I got relegated from div V last season, from one of the toughest leagues. I'm well clear in my league, no chance I wont win promotion.
team is: Outs Formid solid exc exc formid exc formid exc formid formid

Ah, that's right, I remember before you temporarily left that you were wishing you had a bot in your league. Ah well, by the sounds of it, you're set for a good crack at div.5 again.
Not bad, an outstanding keeper. In fact, that's great. How old is he?
Wanna loan me your forwards? :p
My team now looks like this:
solid formid outs. exc exc magnif super super exc solid solid
I am playing a very good opponent this weekend, as I have no chance of beating him, to avoid injuries, I am playing a 3rds team. Preserve my firsts for the crucial games. Hoping for 4th place finish.

Good squads from all three of you.
Avy - Brilliant across the whole midfield. Fantastic stuff. But you need a new keeper, as Im sure you know.
M_M - BRILLIANT defence and IMs. You need to invest in a striker and a keeper. I would get a striker first though. With your strong defence, GK isnt as important as your strikers, especially as your wingers arent amazing.
Afro - New defender and new IM.
Might as well flog mine too :
------------Outstanding---------- --------Brill---Formid--Brill------- Formid--Magnif--Super--Super--Brill -----------Magnif--Brill---------
Wanna get rid of those two formids next.
Seconds:
------------Excell------------ -------Solid--Excell--Solid------ Excell--Excell--Outstand--Brill--Solid ----------Excell-Solid-----------

Nothing wrong with my IM's, I like Almner. I've got defenders coming up right now. A couple of quality youngsters. Including a 17yo solid who'll play next week. I've started training defending and I'll be selling on my formid defender soon because he's 24, I'll buy a replacement and train him up too. Spend the funds on wingers. My wings have always been pretty average.
Beat Funky 4-0 today with two passable defenders on the pitch.

You will be hard pressed to survive in Div 5 with that midfield. Form-OT-Form is what you should aim for atm.

Well...I'd only need the one player...but Almner has served me so well. So long sentiment. I guess I could invest there and then go hunting for a couple of wingers post-promotion...

Your seconds did a reasonable job against mine today, Funky. Fell apart after the red card is all.

Applied for the federation. Your teams are really good! But you guys don't worry much about sub's do you?! Is that much of a worry in the Aussie divisions?! (for those who don't know, I created my team in Germany when I was backpacking)

Subs suck if you're training. Players losing game time. There's no real tactical use for them in the lower divisions anyway.

I dont tend to do it, but I used to. Striker for a defender when down, defender for striker when up, just simple things like that.

It'd be easier if you could make the changes during the game. But the HT servers would probably overload with so many people being online and at the same time.

afromanGT wrote:Subs suck if you're training. Players losing game time. Yeah?! I've never heard of this, I'm relatively new to the game, care to elaborate?! I train wings. I've had 2 good sales from since I got serious about training. Just under 2 million euros each. One was quick. I bought them as passable's, 18-19yo 'cos 17s are too expensive for me ATM. I sold them at or just before Outstanding winger, passable playmaking, passable passing, passable-ind def. In future I will get to Brilliant, train their playmaking a bit and make even more money. Training is worked out on a pro-rata basis, so foor every minute of a match a player plays, he'll recieve 1.11% of his possible training, so if he plays 60 minutes of a game, he'll recieve 66.66% of his possible training load, and so on.

So, in less fancy terms, training is minute based, and if a player plays the full match he gets 100% of training. Half a game gives 50% and so on.

No no! I meant sub skills not substitutes! That was what I meant sorry. Are they highly regarded in the lower Aussie leagues!?

Hahahaha. Yes, in those who are serious about the game, Subs are very important. Especially when buying trainees.
In other news, the Oceanian Federation messaged me about my 2nd best trainee and that hes in with a shout at WC. Hes at around the same level as Eddie, hes about 7 weeks younger and about 8 weeks worse. Hes at a great age for the next WC, so hopefully his weak passing doesnt close the deal.

What are his stats freak?! Anyone want to sell me some Aussie kids to train in wing?! Preferably quick or with head specialty. Passable+ in the wing skill, Passable-Inadequate+ in secondaries Passing and Play-making. Edited by hmterraaus: 29/10/2009 03:56:36 PM

The guy I have coming out my youth academy will be too good. He will be excellent at 17/0 and will probably cost about a mil.
Ask Avy - he trains wing and has lots of young wingers.

Huirangi Keegan (61714409) eh... woah 16 something and 7 stars on the wing. Great pull. I haven't had one in ages, my scouts keep offering me shit no matter how long I wait after the first day. My best kid ATM is Stefan REBEL, 16 something with the potential to get to solid def, solid passing, passable play-making and he's Unpredictable. I think I will have to switch to play-making training for a bit in order to keep that killer name in my 1st's for a long time, I hope to tie it in to when I give future wing trainee's some play-making training. Although he doesn't have long hair he has a headband \m/ Edited by hmterraaus: 29/10/2009 04:20:50 PM
