71 and 73% possession, but the chances were 5 a piece. Goddamn counterattacking.
Top of the table. Celtic Raiders and Liverpool Victory FC equal second on 6 points, and they play each other next week. Big game. Played seconds as always, but used 2 defenders from the firsts for the counter attacking tactic to work. Picked it as I knew my midfield seconds were no match for yours. Pleased with the outcome, should of scored more...

My youth pull sold for 1.6 mil, right on TC.
If all three of my trainees pop this week as they are supposed to, I should get 4-5 mil for them, meaning I have made roughly 10.5 mil profit so far this season :P
Hoping to have enough by week 14 to upgrade 2, possibly 3 of my first team players that have become too old for my team.

That's a good return so far this season, Torana.
I was at around a 1m profit...it was higher but I spent it all on a player. I should be able to upgrade my stadium and buy a new defender by the end of the season.

HM, unlucky that you got a player with his potential when he was already 17, would've been a guaranteed u-20 player if he was younger.
Trust me I've been tempted to spend this money a few times this season so far.
I figure seeing as I can win the series without the upgrades I might aswell wait till the market is at its cheapest (weak 12/13-14) to buy some players, plus it lets me save on wages (420k atm) in the meantime.

Quote:Avnell Looks Forward to Top of Table Clash
Elmer Fudd - SMH
When it comes to this season of Division V.148, it doesn't get much bigger than these next two weeks.
Victoria Lions currently sit atop the table of Division V.148 with an impressive record of 6 wins, 0 draws and 0 losses. They lead FC Avnell by 3 points after a poor showing from Avnell against FC Newcastle Jets where they fell to a surprise loss, and one which lowered morale around the camp after such a good start.
It all starts tomorrow at 12pm. When two teams walk out side by side onto the pitch at VB Stadium. When an expected 27,550 people will be eagerly watching these two sides stride out from the race, a full bay of the Red and White Army yelling and shouting both for their beloved team, and without doubt, sledging the men from FC Avnell.
A win for either team will go far as to prove who will be the winner of V.148. With a Lions home win, they can skip away to a 6 point lead and members, fans and pundits alike will be confident in saying Victoria Lions have one foot in the door to championship glory.
On the other hand, If the men at FC Avnell can score a crucial away win, and hand Lions their first loss, the season will be back on track for them. A away win is vital to take home the next week and attempt to take the division by the horns.
We caught up with manager Chris Avnell before the clash:
EF: Hello Chris, How are things in the camp today?
CA: G'day Elmer, Our camp has been buzzing today with excitement, there are of course those few players who have a few jitters, mainly the younger ones who haven't been in such a scenario in their career, but with much experienced players such as Nash and Alvarez in our squad, I am sure they will be settled and confident before kick off tomorrow.
EF: Antonio Faro came out of last weeks match with an injury, will he be in the starting line-up this week?
CA: Yes, definitely yes. He limped off last week, but club doctors and physios have declared him fit to play.
EF: Are there are players you will be looking to stop tomorrow?
CA: Without a doubt if we want to win this clash, shutting down Fernando Paulino in the midfield will be key.
EF: That gives us a little insight to the clash tomorrow, thanks for taking some time out of your busy schedule to sit with us for just a brief moment. And may the best team win tomorrow.
CA: It's been a pleasure.
So as we see, not only will tomorrow give a team either one step in the door to success, but to the other, a chance to go home tied leading the table and play for the lead next week.
This will be a real match for the fans to see, and I for one, will be in the stands.

you missed a bit... Quote: The president of the FC Avnell fan squad of just over nineteen-hundred, Yosemite Sam has blasted the coach and labelled him, watered down... "no-good". We asked him after the last game what the general mood in the toothless, welfare cheating, bogan supporters den was like at the moment behind the FC Avnell crossbars.
"Ooh that rackin' frackin' no-good rotten varmint's team days in this division are numbered if the side doesn't get rid of that dog-blasted, ornery, no-account manager." said Yosemite Sam. Asked what he thought the outcome of this weekend's match day would be versus the Victoria Lions: "They're going to be blown to smithereens!"

Won mine 2-0 as well. My keeper was injured, but only for a week. Pretty much sealed 4th spot now, at the very least. Only 3 points from 1st.
