McFlynn was probably just a catch up, but you never know what strings Rudan could be pulling, he has already made some big signing for the club.

Reddy, even though he might like the grog, and wouldn’t be HAL standard these days, he is still good enough for the state league.

With the squad United has this season, they will be going close to winning it. (well so you think anyways)

Honestly couldn't see McFlynn in a United jersey.

Names mean jack shit. All players are equal when they walk onto the park.

Only their abilities and spirit seperate them and what they do on the day.

Seen so many so called big names play like spastics and no names owned them on the park.

hahahaha, so is there an alternative explanation for what has happened? im happy to be corrected.

as for us, were fine champ. likely to see some great young kids burst into the first team this season. theres a couple who are really good prospects.

off the field, were ok too. weve been stable for the past few years financially which is is not easy when you engage in the capital works program that weve undertaken at bicentennial.

quick question, hows the synthetic coming along? i hear some games early in the season will need to be moved as it wont be ready. any idea when it will be finished? such a shame to see another grass venue disappear but reality is synthetic has its bonuses. the field at king tom hasnt been anywhere near as good as it was when i used to treck out there regularly to watch my favourite player, manis lamond!

I couldn’t answer that directly as I am not in the ‘know’ but at the moment we are in a better state then once before, things are looking up.

Cevap business must be doing well. ;)

I haven’t seen any work on the pitch in a few weeks, though I am not sure how the process works. The pitch has been levelled out, dirty & what not applied. Maybe waiting for the synthetic pitch to get imported from Asia? I see us playing at least a few games away first.

Our pitch has never been the same after our groundskeeper Gilligan passed away… he lived and breathed the club, and the ground.

Didn't know where to put this but good news today that the Sydney United fans arrested and charged for the fracas in the pre season friendly between United and WSW have apparently been cleared by the courts.

I was at your U/20 trials. The ground you used for trials looks like it is 100 years old and run down to the point it is simply embarrassing to see such a great clubs sign attached to it.

Your player selections reflects a lot of inexperience to be competitive in the NSWPL for 2013 in both first grade and U/20's.

I sincerely hope the CCM A-league club gives you a lot of support and you haven't screwed it up from the start but it appears so already. The good thing is as the season progresses you can still make improvements. From what i've seen your 2 miles behind the 8 ball in every aspect.

Best of luck.

http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/centralcoastmariners/news-display/NSW-Government-commits-18-million-to-Pluim-Park/48123

Pluim park will be up and running on schedule so that will take care of the ground situation. I also heard on the grapevine that 6 NYL players will be dropping back into the squad which should help matters on the park as well. They may take a little while to get going as any new club would (i think WSW didn't score a goal in their first half a dozen games) but hopefully they are more than competitive at seasons end.

neverwozza,

Your going to need more than 6 NYL players to stay off the bottom of the NSWPL table.

I'm well aqcuainted with the players and have a lot of respect for them. But you will need proven seasoned pro's if you do not want to dwell in the relegation zone. Your U/20's position on the table may just make or break your position in NSWPL this season.

Good luck.
Go the Mariners!!! and Blacktown City ;)

City train on the back fields behind the stadium some nights and train on the main pitch other nights, sometimes in the gym, sometimes they have a night off for dinner in at Lily's restaurant. It all depends on the sessions planned by the coaches. Both areas are well lit and well grassed areas considering the amount of training they do. The main pitch is pristine all year round. Love Critto's work :) I'll always have a soft spot for city and will miss them ;)

Just checked out your CCM side for 2013. I know all of the blokes from city last year.

Between you and me none of them could score past me in goals after 5 shots each within the 18 yard box last year at training and i'm 50 years old and wear glasses. I'm not joking either. As much as I like James Monie the man, he fell flat on his face while trying to put one past the old fart in goals. Braggie takes corners like an All age ladies division 8 player and Jenner reminds of red dog in funny farm. Runs allday but has no idea why or where. I showed vorster how to shoot but this won't sink in for a few years as he is a great guy but not the brightest bulb on the tree. Good times..

I brought you a young lad to trial with your U/20's that could shoot better than all 4 of them and you trialled him at left defender ??. If you spent 5 mintues to talk with him instead of treating him like cattle you would have found this out. He was sent to you for trial on recommendation from your CCM A-League club. But what do they know

Anyways best of luck. Hope you don't get your arses handed to you on a platter to badly ;)

anyone who is using the pre-season comp as a yard stick to the seasons should think again........most clubs are treating it like a trial scenario......just have a look at some of the scores......and some of the team line ups........

on another note....when will football NSW get the web page sorted and the draw up and running, with the teams new signings and the elite 1 and 2 all completed?????

No doubt. However, the strongest teams on paper also managed to finish as the best 4 in the groups so it's a decent indication of what's to come

It's by no means a certainty though

we officially announced brendan gan yesterday to go with our other recruits, sam munro, richie cardozo, michael cindric, adam casey, a new keeper fromsouth america, and a couple of new japanese players continuing the recent trend in the PL. One of them looks handy. anyway, plenty of firepower up front this year. something we lacked last year.

anyone who is using the pre-season comp as a yard stick to the seasons should think again........most clubs are treating it like a trial scenario......just have a look at some of the scores......and some of the team line ups........

on another note....when will football NSW get the web page sorted and the draw up and running, with the teams new signings and the elite 1 and 2 all completed?????

Not going to mention your other big signing?

A real family affair, big money apparently as well.

first of all that signing youre referring to is not going to happen.

secondly, we easily fit into the points system. yes weve added half a dozen players, but out of the rest of our squad, theyre mainly young guys, 5 of which played NYL, and we have a couple whove been with us for a long time.
the points tally will drop next year and the yar after so it will get harder but with some fine prospects in our 20's, im confident we'll be blooding from within.

Havent seen Munro for a few years (he was with Dandaloo down in the IPL, right?) but he was excellent for us when we won the Premiership a few years ago. He was only about 18 at the time but he was a little terrier in midfield.

I was quite disappointed that we didnt manage to hold onto him. It'll be interesting to see how he goes

Cardozo is another great signing. Urosevski + Cardozo sounds like a pretty lethal combination.

The top 6 or 7 squads are all relatively even. Plenty of quality across the board

I cant see the likes of APIA and CCM keeping up over the course of a whole season. Dont know much about the Spartans squad either
