spartans didn't get into 2nd gear....i would say 2nd worst performance of the year, good to get it out of the way and get a point......

It was great to see a tram made up largely of youngsters and United products. The average age of our starting midfield would have been about 19/20

Hopefully Rudes keeps faith in the youngsters

same with spartans, very young team....Rudan also got sent off....two years ago he was at rockdale and Rockdale were a rough team...now he is at united and they are playing rough.....on paper United have a team that should be in the top 3 no problems...from an outsider lack of discipline is letting United down......

Yeah I can't say I agree with that assessment either. Pretty sure that was our first red card this season

If anything, I would have said that a bit of physical presence is the biggest thing missing from our side this year after losing Cindric and Bosnar

maybe it was poppa watching that got Paric and Stamatellis fired up.....???

elbows everywhere from 22 Barac how he didn't end up sent off is beyond me, really good player buy bad attitude...really the ref didn't get control of the match and was very average.......(for both teams)

oh and it was 2 red cards for united and Rudan was sent off as well

Yeah, but the second red was right at the death for a second yellow for kicking the ball away. Nevermind the fact that Paric was in the process of kicking the ball as the ref blew the whistle for the free kick.

He was absolutely useless. Two clear penalties (one for handball, the other when Tricky was brought down) were waived away.

As for Rudes getting sent off, that was a joke. Den Haan spent 2 minutes outside his technical area berating the officials after the Stama incident and nobody batted an eyelid. Rudes dares to question a terrible decision on a clear handball in the box and he's sent off.

I dont blame Rudes for firing up after that disgusting refereeing performance.

As for Stama, he fired up for a very simple reason - the Spartans player quite clearly took him out off the ball to ensure that Stama couldnt get back. Dirty move

I'm still questioning how the ref let the play continue for another two minutes before stopping the ball while it was in play for the player to receive treatment. Then, instead of playing a dropball as is procedure, he brought it back for a Spartans free-kick.

your as one eyed as me...LOL....your 22 should have been the first sent off, two elbows and a stomping and he ended up with a yellow...and just before paric kicked the ball away there was another stomp, the united player lashed out and kicked the player on the ground

at the end of the day it was a horrible match, horrible referee and it deserved the result it ended up with

We'll see if they show either of the controversial penalty calls in the highlights.

As for the game "deserving the result"... I'm not sure if you mean that on the balance of play or just based on your observation that it was a poor game. On the balance of play, a point for the Spartans was undeserved

But fair play to them, their keeper kept them in it and we've only got ourselves to blame for not putting away one of the numerous chances we had

Here my thoughts on the Batfink, Sydneycroatia stoush.

There is a rule of thumb. If a team plays another team at their homeground and gets away with a draw then that's a positive result for the away team. Anything less is a fail for the away team and a draw is a fail for the hometeam.

Therefore SU drawing with Spartans at SU's homeground favours Spartans. The return match won't be so pleasant.

Anyways we have completed the halfway mark and now the return matches. Stay tuned for my un-educated analysis and clueless predictions.

Oh and Macecedonia, You pull crowd figures out of your arse. Unless you have 3000 fans on the hill opposite the stadium your full of shit. No Olympic fan would sit on the hill opposite the stadium seating. Only visitors do.

No one on the forum is dumb enough to believe the figures you spruke. So why bother.

Are you at every Olympic game you flog to make that statement...because i am there every week and the majority of people on the benches and on the Hill are all Olympic fans...i would know since i am on that side during games.
