Carlos Saliaderre (probably spelt that wrong) Same keeper they've had for the last few years. He picked up a short-term contract with WSW towards the end of the season, IIRC

That'd be Carlos Saliadarre, yeah. Highly rated and trained under Fraser. Little interview from earlier this month here. Not too sure who Micky Brock is but here is some classic journalistic work from him in the interview - Quote:Saliadarre doesn’t come across as a nice guy or even an intelligent one but looks are often deceptive and, dodgy haircut aside, here is one lad who is not only all of the above but for an XR8 driving Bogan has the personality to match and should his goals not be fulfilled there is absolutely no justice in the footballing world so do yourselves an enormous favour and get out to watch him now before the big boys come knocking or he is whisked away overseas perhaps? Is he getting paid to write this shit for the official NSWPL site    ?

When the Spartans knocked us out on penalties in the Cup a few years back (they were in Div 2 at the time) he kept them in the game for 120 minutes and then saved a couple in the shootout
I remember saying then that United should have a look at him as he was spectacular that night.
Good on him for sticking with the Spartans all this time.

He's had quite a few this season Have just had a look and it seems he's been a radio commentator up until 2011 for the NSW Premier League. Found an interview he did on a Swedish site in regards to an Aussie player and it seems he used to be involved as Northern Spirit's programme editor. That was back in around 1998.

well i have waited 11 rounds of watching the highlights to give them a chance to improve or at least get it right......the format and idea is great...but the execution is absolute shit.....50% of the time they get the players names wrong, about 90% of the time the highlights don't show the true indication of the game or who was the better team and they miss half of the action or real highlights of the game...... 5/10 for me...heaps of improvement required.........

FNSW use emotive amateurs. It's not professional and there is very little technical logic.
Or perhaps they think they are catering to the mentality of the general football crowd who exaggerate crowd figures
I never have the headset on while watching a video nor do I read their match reports because the video highlights do not match the player/coaches reports on video.

MACEDONIA,
It's always good value to take the micky out of the LOLympic fans.
Busy week for me as always.
Pretty quiet here on the forums. The comp has reached the halfway mark and I think everyone is taking stock of the season so far and where to go from here.
This weeks games look pretty straight forward. I don't expect too many upsets.
Winners this week should be
Olympic V Mariners. LOLympic should take the points. BWE V Apia. BWE winners here. A no brainer. Sutherland V South coast. Chalk and cheese. Sutherland hands down. Marconi V Fartans. Marconi at home should be enough to secure all 3 points but fartans will be happy to go home with a draw.
There are question marks with city V rockdale but I think the huge city home crowd may get city over the line. City are expecting anywhere up to 50,000 if you count the ants hanging around the dropped sausage sandwich on the hill. I think rockdale will be happy to sneak away with a draw but big job at city's home ground.
Sydney united V manly is the other game with a question mark over it. SU are not travelling well and have not won a game since trouncing apia in round 5. Manly may just sneak a draw I suspect.

Halfway mark. Time for a few snapshots. Club Championship points. Sutherland Sharks 133 Bonnyrigg White Eagles 132 Blacktown City FC 127 Rockdale City Suns 124 Sydney United 58 FC 122 Marconi Stallions 116 Sydney Olympic FC 115 Blacktown Spartans FC 114 Manly United FC 89 APIA Leichhardt Tigers 67 Central Coast Mariners Academy 63 South Coast Wolves 60 Ladder after round 11 So looking at the table, Best attacking side. Blacktown City, Defence is the issue. Best attack/defence combination. Bonnyrigg. Well balanced. Best defensive side. Bonnyrigg. Worst defensive side. South Coast Wolves. Big defence issues. Attack wise should be higher on the ladder. Worst attacking side. Central Coast Mariners. Big problems in attack. Not the worst defence but no far from it. Average teams. Fartans and Sydney United. Meaning defense and attack on par with each other. Edited by aussiesrus: 1/6/2013 07:14:56 AM

United 0-0 Manly. Not a great game, but not a horrible one. United did well I thought after going down to 10 men after Mileski got sent off. Good game defensively, but we're missing something badly upfront with Glavas out.
New pitch looks outstanding and the highlight of the day was Spider's scissor kick goal in the Celebrity match before hand.

How good are these tips ;) With 5 out of 6 correct plus one being a draw you would have cleaned up at livebet! Blacktown City let me down but it's not the first time  Edited by aussiesrus: 2/6/2013 05:45:13 PM
