Why is that worrying?? Crowd numbers are up on last years average of 12,000.

You do know Sydney FC's home ground holds twice as many as Parramatta Stadium, so WSW's crowd capacity is already limited.

Blacktown announced that they were getting it done towards the end of the season mate

APIA getting it done aswell

So currently (Syd Utd, Sutherland, Manly, Blacktown Spartans all have it and hopefully + APIA/City)

I heard BWE want to aswell but want to raise funds for a new grand stand first

Lambert Park getting done as we speak and will be ready for pre-season matches.

Pretty sure Gabbie in construction to.

That makes 6 out of the 12 clubs with synthetic pitches next year, meaning washouts won't be as frequent.

Speaking of artificial fields. Arlington Oval in Dulwich Hill is getting artificial turf - should be done by the middle of the year. Dulwich Hill are trying to get Lambert Park for home games while Arlington is getting done up.

Bwe vs Rockdale Round 1 @ Bonnyrigg Sports Club

If im being honest i dont think the boys will be strong performers this season, squads need rejuvenation
We have the pretty much same squad only 3 new faces
Top 5 but not going to win it, my bet is it will be between Sydney Olympic/Sydney United

7 new faces at Olympic. Team to beat for me Could i be biased Maybe

Kotsopoulos from AUnited the big signing for me quick with a very strong shooting leg
Will kill it inthis league and will beplaying A league in 2015 or oerseas for me

We have the Galatsis brothers everyone knows there credentials one is a very
good striker for me and the other one bench player at most

Tomara looks like a interesting player to me
Could also play a League to be very gifted to with great vision on the ball
and agood tackler of the ball has been playing 2 division soccer in greece for a
few years only 22

Our last greek signing is Hatstimatis Sth Melbourne striker or winger
Has been injury prone last few years and from all reports a pacey winger or
striker who looks okay to me

Our other 2 players are Jap PLAYERS both small in statue but look very good
on the ball both play in the middle and up front

We have finished 7 last year

Hendo Markovic Sorge Trellor Danaskos Angel Guthuier Williams Baskuruy hooper
remain from last year

Add youth players Spyrakis Stavropoulos and thats Olympic side for th year

Our 2nd gk will be Liam Jakob who wasoverseas last year

Charasteas will be here for 2 games agreed to terms on Monday

Round 2 Spartans Belmore
Round 3 Wolves Belmore will thegames hewill beplaying

Well, considering they are allowed 2 players outside the cap, yes, I think they are.

How can Olympic have 3 visa players, the 2 japs and the Greek fellow?

Greek player from greece was born here
as for the salary cap who knows if they are over or not

charasteas is a guest player
so dont think he is included
As part of the salary cap

That's all
to me charasteas is a waste of money
for the club im against wasting money
for someone for 2 games

I'm all for the richer clubs bringing in old stars to raise the profile of the league, so long as its the same rules for all clubs. And if Olympic has the money, why not. I'm guessing a few rich parties we backing the payroll, that otherwise wouldn't have made it into club money regularly?

So long as fnsw allow all other clubs to bring in a 3rd visa player as a marquee on a short term deal, why not. If it means crowds of 1k - 2k rather than 500, make it happen.

If just be a bit concerned that one of the jap boys might need to move on, as I haven't seen anything from fnsw about marquee allowances... Which would be pretty sad to lose a player for a full year to gain a few pensioner players over a few games

so am i.

for those who dont know, each team has max of 280 points although you get some credit for blooding young kids.
gotta have 20 players each off a base of 10 points. you get slugged 8 pts extra for each player you buy, and a bit more for visa players of which you can only have 2. players over 25 get slugged 1 pt for every year over.
so if olympic have bought in 7 players, 2 of whom are visa players, they must be borderline in terms of points if not over. blooding some of the kids will help but theres some old heads there too like hendo who would be costing them a fair bit. no idea how they squeeze in the guest player.

anyway, im sure all players will be submitted and scrutinised by FNSW, as they do for all other clubs.

someone asked how utd are doing it, well they pretty much have their team from last year. mileski gone, reddy gone, and a couple of others. theyve only bought a few players and mostly young guys.

spartans for all the talk havent bought a whole new team although they have recruited a few players. hence why they might be able to do it although silly season not over yet so wait and see who else signs where. still some players floating around, not to mention those that will become available at end of a-league season.

marconi looks like theyre gonna rely on a lot of their 20's. bonno are largely the same team. a few big names gone from rockdale. sutho picked up sim from manly. i hear jason najdovski is at stgeorge. manly picked up chris payne from mariners. apia picked up pellegrino but then i heard hes gone overseas???

for me, the clear contenders are utd, bonno, sutho.
then you'll see the likes of the two blacktowns, olympic and rockdale.

anyone got any other news on player movements?

great first round of games in the pre season cup.

wolves defeat utd 3-2 at king tom, spartans defeat bonno 3-0, olympic and marconi 1-1, sutho beat the saints 1-0, rockdale beat apia 1-0, blacktown beat manly 3-1.
spartans new recruits looked good, ditto olympic.
