mileski not playing has been a blow for them as he was in great form but i simply dont buy any excuses about being short of players etc. when you look at their squad, it runs as deep as any other. yes pav left early in the piece but then richie came in, boesma came in, and more recently taneski.

theyve got 25 players in their first grade squad and even allowing for those overseas and injured, still a quality squad.

anyway, gonna be tight for 5th position. theres a heap of clubs still in the mix. united, spartans, rockdale, manly, sutho and even wolves. cant remember last time so many teams were slugging it out for one finals spot.

Spot on. We've got the deepest squad in the league. The side that started on the weekend is strong enough to beat most sides.

Even when Robbie was here and was on fire we were still losing games. We've been dropping points for far longer than the wedding exodus, we should have been comfortably in the top 5 by now. You cant start blaming the 'shortage' of players for our struggle to keep our spot in the 5. At one point we were 7 points clear of 6th!

I know for a fact last week the squad only had 10 fit players at training, the rest were 20's

No mention of A-League players dropping down. I was aware of the A-league and NYL player rule in between the 1st and 2nd windows, but not after the 2nd window had closed.

This is more relevant. I'd say clause 4.7 is the relevant one - Registrations Outside Registration Periods

FFA or a Member Federation (as the case requires) may register a Player outside the
Registration Periods if:
(i) that Professional Player was not bound by a playing contract before the expiry of the
immediately preceding Registration Period;

So the windows only really apply to switching players... Well done United. Good signing.

I believe that's a FIFA regulation. Free agents are allowed to sign for clubs at any time if they were a free agent at the time the window closed. The main reason for this is to protect the player - ie. if you get released the day of the window closing you might not be able to secure a contract and therefore an income for another 6 months.

This. As far as I know as long as there is room in a clubs squad, depending on the specific league's registration rules, a free transfer can be signed at any time.

i think you are mistaken champ. three players were targetted in particular. one you mention and thats political stuff. wasnt referring to him. the other two i can tell you have done nothing at all and one of them in particular, the chants towards him were disgusting.

On another note, Stama's "frustration" will really cost him, he's got atleast 2 games suspension, meaning he'll miss the FFA Cup match as well as this weekends match. Could even be 3 if it's a violent tackle from behind rather than just violent conduct...
