Ok guys, you know the drill. Battle of the Foods. We'll go for 128 nominations. Each person is limited to 4 at first, and then if we still have room for more than I'll open it up again.
The question I want from you guys, is will it be basic things like cheese, ham, bacon etc., or do you want meals like chicken parma, spaghetti bolognaise, enchiladas, pizza? Or do you want a mixture of both? I think we need to sort that out before we nominate anything.
NOMINEES SO FAR 1 Apple 2 Arancini 3 Bacon 4 Bacon & Egg Roll 5 Bacon Sandwich 6 Baklava 7 Banana 8 Bangers and Mash 9 Beef stroganoff 10 Beef Wellington 11 BLT burger.... which cheese. 12 Butter Chicken 13 Calimari 14 Caramel Fudge 15 Caramel popcorn 16 Caramel Slice 17 Cevapi 18 Cheescake 19 Cheese and Bacon Roll 20 Chesse and Bacon Balls 21 Chicken Burritos 22 Chicken Caesar salad 23 Chicken Kiev 24 Chicken Parma 25 Chicken Snitty 26 Chicken wrapped in proscuitto 27 Chiko Roll 28 Chilli Con Carne 29 Chocolate 30 Chocolate Éclair 31 Chocolate Mousse 32 Chorizo 33 Chow Mein 34 Christmas puddin' 35 Coco Pops 36 Crayfish 37 Crocodile 38 Crostoli 39 Crunchy Roll 40 Damper Dip / Cob Loaf Dip 41 Duck confit 42 Eggs Benedict 43 Emu 44 Enchiladas 45 French Toast 46 Fruit Salad 47 Garlic Bread 48 Garlic Sauce 49 Gnocchi 50 Grapes 51 Grilled Fish (with chips n salad) 52 Guava 53 Hash Browns 54 Home-Made Tomato Soup 55 Hommus 56 Huevos Rancheros 57 Kangaroo 58 Kebab 59 KFC Double 60 Krispy Kreme Original Glazed 61 Lamb Chops 62 Lamb Cutlets 63 Lamb on the spit 64 Lasagne 65 Light and Tangy chips 66 Macarons 67 Mango Chicken 68 Mangoe 69 Meat Pie 70 Mi Goreng noodles 71 Milky Bars / White Chocolate 72 Milo from the tin 73 Minestrone 74 Miso Soup 75 Mongolian Beef 76 Mountain Devil 77 Nachos 78 Nandos 79 Nutella from the jar 80 Orange 81 Paella 82 Pancakes 83 Pastizzi 84 Pavlova 85 Peaches 86 Philly Cheesesteak 87 Pizza 88 Pork Belly 89 Potato Bake 90 Potato Salad 91 Prawns 92 Pretzels 93 Pringles 94 Pulled Pork 95 Raisin Toast 96 Raspberry Licorice 97 Ravioli 98 Roast Chicken 99 Roast Pork with crackling 100 Roast Potato 101 Rogan Josh 102 Roquette 103 Rump Steak 104 Salt and Vinegar Chips 105 Salted-caramel fudge 106 Satay chicken 107 Seafood Salad 108 Shim Ramyun 109 Smoked salmon 110 Smoked Salmon Bagel 111 Snickers 112 Soft-serve Ice Cream 113 Spaghetti Bolonese 114 Steak (with chips n salad) 115 Steakhouse Chips and Gravy 116 Sticky Date Pudding 117 Stuffed Cabbage Rolls (Sarma) - Traditional Croatian food 118 Sweet & Sour Pork 119 Tacos 120 Tim Tams 121 Trifle 122 Triple-Smoked Ham 123 Tzatziki 124 Wagyu Steak 125 Watermelon 126 Wedges with Sour Cream and Sweet Chilli sauce 127 Works Burger 128 Zataar

I'd say a mixture would be best imo,
Also, chuck Parma's into the fray if that's the route we take.

Two foods will be pitted against each other, people will vote on their favourite and the winner progresses to the next round. Think of it as our version of the Australian Open, but with food instead of tennis players.

In all seriousness, Bacon shouldnt be in because it wouldnt be a fair contest. Bacon defeats all. As for my favourite all time food, Bangers and Mash. Edited by shaker: 21/12/2012 10:19:59 PM

Agree but it doesn't baffle me so much as makes me roll my eyes at people playing along a perpetual fad; I just don't care. Just like any other obsession exaggerated and played out by social media, such as ninjas, Pokemon etc. Cheese and Bacon Balls Freshly baked Cheese and bacon roll. What does baffle me is that imno has yet to mention Nandos. :? Edited by martyB: 23/12/2012 02:24:02 PM

Cheesecake and Garlic Bread have won. Pringles is currently leading 10-6, whilst Triple-smoked ham has fought back to level it's matchup with banana at 8 apiece.

BATTLE 5 Bacon & Egg Roll vs Arancini BATTLE 6 Hommus vs Crocodile BATTLE 7 Philadelphia Cheesesteak vs Lamb Chops BATTLE 8 Sweet & sour Pork vs Gnocchi
betting on all the home teams.
however, will note that i've never eaten crocodile so that lost by default. will be sure to check it out sometime - can you get it at woolies ala kangaroo, or more of a specialty?

I haven't seen it there but I've seen it specialty supermarkets. It's like a thicker, meatier chicken =p~

Quote:however, will note that i've never eaten crocodile so that lost by default. will be sure to check it out sometime - can you get it at woolies ala kangaroo, or more of a specialty? You'll have to find a speciality butcher. It's generally farmed up in North Queensland, frozen and then shipped south.
